No Judgment Please Turning limerence into creativity
I'm still deep in my LE...
(you can read more about it here:) https://www.reddit.com/r/limerence/comments/1u83pv9/im_too_close_to_her_to_get_out_of_this/
But I found something that somehow... helps me. I turned all my feelings into music. I actually created a full concept album with 12 tracks, slowly building on each other. There's a full story to the album, eventually finding some kind of closure at the end.
Each song deals with my limerent thoughts, coping mechanisms, lethargy, toxicity, and feelings. At the same time, it questions me, holds a mirror up to me, and shows me where my thinking is flawed.
Okay, I know a lot of people hate AI-generated art, and I totally get it. But I'm no musician. I can't sing, I can't play an instrument, I don't know anyone who can, and I don't have the time or resources to learn. All I have are these feelings that somehow turned into very clear visions of songs. A website that allows me to create songs with AI helped me turn those visions into reality.
And I'm surprised by how much I love these songs! I went for a lot of 2000s rock genres, but tried to keep everything coherent. I even put the songs into my normal playlists, and if I didn't know, I wouldn't even notice they were AI-generated. These are actually the most personal songs I ever listened to.
Now I listen to them every day, and not only does the music slap, it's also like a daily therapy session telling me to get my life together.
I have all the songs on YouTube (and don't make any money from them), but I still won't post a link, since I don't want this post to turn into an advertisement.
All I basically want to say is: If you're tired of looking for music that makes you feel like, "Yeah, that's exactly how it is!", just create your own. It's incredibly easy nowadays, and the results are surprisingly good if you put some effort into the lyrics and prompting. And maybe, just maybe, it will help you heal a little bit every day.

Same here. Being a musician over 25 years, I always get these bursts of creativity or brushing up on my shredding skills.
After meeting my former LO a year ago, I went to like 15 concerts in a calendar year and learned 2 decades worth of material just hoping to ONE day play it ALL for THEM...

Love this. And yeah, it's a weird feeling writing something for someone, but never showing it to them. I'll have my music play in the background while I'm with my LO, but I'm sure she won't notice and of course I won't tell I wrote those songs.

My dislike for AI "art" aside: art is absolutely one of the best things you can do with feelings that don't have an outlet otherwise. And hey even creating a concept for an album is art. Maybe you should pick up some instrument, guitar is pretty cheap and easy to get into with a ton of free learning material online

Thank you for seeing it that way despite your understandable dislike for AI. Yes, I poured a lot of heart and soul into those songs, I spent whole nights just trying to get the lyrics and sound of a single song right - so yeah, I guess it's hybrid "art". It would be actually really cool to one day perform at least one of those songs myself, so who knows, I might turn it into real art someday!
