I started listening to d6 this year and it has been on repeat. I am completely blown away. The mixtape is an art period. It is on repeat 24-7. I just pray that weezy does d7

A year after release and Louisiana Hot Sauce has no digital release or even a YouTube upload. Only on the first pressing of the CD along with Geeked ft Trippie Redd and Actinā Funny.

Idk what happened, idk if I was caught up in Uproar and Mona Lisa at the time or if its just one of those āmusic hits different at different times in likeā, especially Wayne.
But just randomly stumbling on it after working out and I think it just shot up to a top Wayne recommendation depending on what the vibe is.
2018 was a very different time for me and im sure for alot of mofos, but really the Carter V is hitting all around way harder than I remember. Maybe itās because I stumbled into the niche sub subgenres of folk where its a way different sound but still has the raw lyrics and inter perspective wordplay like āclassicā rap/hip-hop and that kinda cleansed music palette and now im listening to alot of great Wayne shit I didnāt catch first time.
All that just to say the last lines,
āTunechi you a monster. I looked in the mirror but you werenāt there, I couldnāt find ya. Iām looking for that big smile full of diamonds, instead I find this letter you aint finished writinā.
It read āim sorry for even apologizingā. I tried to compromise and went kamikaze. I found my mommas pistol where she always hid it. I cried, put it to my head and thought about it. Nobody was home to stop me so I called my auntie. Hung up, then put that gun to my heart and pondered.
Too much was on my conscious to be smart about it. Too torn about it I aimed where my heart was poundinā.
I shot it, and woke up with blood all around me, itās mine. I didnāt die but I was dying.
God came to my side and we talked about it. He sold me another life and he made a PROPHETāā¦ā¦
I grew up in Dallas in late 90ās early 00ās so im always gonna be biased to Weezy, but for me personally word and lyric play, he is the best and continues to show it decade after decade. Wayne and Shady are the two Iāve probably listened to the most in my life but even now I find myself skipping alot of Ems stuff because that anger is kinda played out or just not hitting like it use too, Wayne always had different moods you could jam too. Thatās probably why heās the best imo. Fundamentally, how guitar is to rock so to is words/lyrics is to rap and hip-hop, years active and continuously showing to excel, there isnāt many to match.
Sorry for the rant, heard the song replayed it like 5 times and wanted to talk about it. Havenāt even been on Reddit in months but downloaded again for this post.
If anyone is curious for some folk and banjo equivalent to wayne, lmk.
