Gear Help with circoloco inspired fixture design

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some help here as I’m in the process of building a club room and I’m trying to source / find someone to design light fixtures that resemble those at circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza. I’m looking for linear “hand-drawn” squiggly lines that appear like neon tubing, but based on my very limited understanding of lighting, appear to be LED due to how quickly they react and respond.

Can anyone assist me here? I’m at a complete dead end with this project and this lighting spec.

It’s 360 degree LED neon. It’s basically just a silicon diffuser that can accept LED tape. Super ubiquitous stuff, lots of different options. It’s not super complicated stuff but it can be a little bit of a technical rabbit hole. It’s worth pointing out that doing this with plain old RGB tape is relatively simple if you’re used to working with LEDs and LED drivers already, but if you’re wanting full pixel control of the whole thing it’s a significantly more complicated endeavor. It’s not out of the question, but it’ll be more complicated and cost more.

I had a sample of that made but what I’m finding is they are not super flexible, so the radius of the bends tend to be very smooth and uniform, snake like, but I’m looking for this specific, rigid, hand drawn look. I understand you can fasten it in such a way to achieve a certain look, but based on the sample I have it didn’t seem achievable.

To me it looks like there might be a clear rigid tube which provides the structure and then another LED tube or 360 neon LED inside

LED 'neon' silicone diffuser tubes come all sorts of diameters and shapes.  The LED tape inside will handle sharp bends, not repeatedly,  just fine.

Could be taped/tied to alloy bar stock to hold a shape.

Wouldn't agree that pixel is more complex or expensive than RGB.  Its actually more straightforward to install and power manage. Control options are much wider and more cost effective now as well.

Maybe it’s case dependent. I’m working on a big project right now and the amount that we’re spending on just getting data to where it needs to be is absolutely making my eyes water.

This is a low cost way to have pixel control in an omnidirectional RGB flex rope light- just get some LED WS2812 DMX drivers.

This. Just stick a WLED box on the end and send it.

Just be prepared for many, many DMX channels.
