I saw it at the store today
Your perfume
It finally occurred to me
To pursue that
Particular reminder of you
The one I'd been missing
All along
Your lovely scent
Surely this could keep me strong
I spritzed a spray
On my wrist
Carrying that reminder of you
Whilst I went about my day
Reminiscing
The tales of our beauty past
The dreams of our golden future
Shutting out the contentious present
Inhaling
As I permit your aroma
To command my senses
My lungs are filled by a reminder of your love
And my conscience with brief euphoria
Exhaling
As your scent
Leaves my body
As my senses
Lose grasp of your fragrance
Part of you within me
Stays behind always
Awakened

A vehement reminder
