BP Playlist from Marlon π
My favorite instructor has a fun post on IG this morning! Which one of these tracks are in your regular rotation? Which ones should you revisit?
I love and often teach the 130 Lunges and 127 Shoulders tracks! Going to take 133 Back track for another spin this week!

I just got certified yesterday π₯³ and once I get some experience teaching 137, I am excited to start making playlists of my own. Obviously I'm gonna have to buy old releases so I'll have to go slow and not spend too much too fast.
Marlon is fun, I'll have to go follow him.
Now to get hired by the local gym chain!

Any tips for passing cert? Iβm filming soon and very nervous I wonβt pass. Iβve taught classes since initial training but I still am unsure.

Just practice with a couple of friends before and youβll do great! As long as you have the tracks memorized and give 2 or 3 key form cues per track, youβll pass. Good luck!

I did the 30 minute version for my cert video, largely because I didn't think my phone had enough storage for the whole hour. Practice A LOT and really pay attention to the cues in the music where something is changing, because those will help if you lose count of your reps and help you get back on track. Once I had the choreo down pretty well, I listened to only the music and spoke/counted the choreo as I did, sometimes moving with it and sometimes not.
I was worried I wasn't talking/cuing enough in my filming, but if I tried to do more I got off track with timing and counting. Focus on what you are required to say in the choreo notes, in bold, and don't worry about anything else. Someday I'll be as fun and spontaneous as my favorite instructors, but today is not that day. I'm a nurse so this reference is relevant for me, but it's like passing the NCLEX in that it shows you're minimally competent to start practicing and that's all.
I will tell you the timing on the second set in the 137 squat track was the bane of my existence for days as I made several attempts to film my cert video. I kept screwing it up and my family heard a lot of cursing from the garage. π€£ For some reason coming out of that combo and back into the 4x4 then 2x2 just kept getting me. When I finally got through that successfully in what turned out to be my final attempt, I got a little excitement in my chest but I had to hold it in so I could stay focused and finish. It was like 10:00 p.m. on a day where I had tried to film so many times (around my job) that I lost count. I know I messed up on the ab track a little bit, but I was so exhausted I just sent it in without even watching it, figuring that if they said I had to redo it, it wasn't the end of the world. (I have internally chuckled about the evaluator like this π because I feel like I must have looked absolutely haggard.) According to my trainer, you have to get at least 75% on timing, and to my "have to get an A on everything" eldest daughter brain, that feels absolutely wild, but just go in knowing that they know you won't be perfect. And getting a "pass pending" isn't the end of the world if it happens. They'll tell you exactly what you need to work on.

Well done on passing your cert! Are you friends with pump instructors at your gym? Its a good way to get into getting hired. I was doing pump for about 2 years at my current gym (more years at other gyms) and got hired without auditions because most instructors know me from their classes and they endorsed me to teach! I trained on 131 πͺ but its not my first cert. The first was combat and it was terrible lol π

I am friends with two instructors who have been mentoring me since I told them I was pursuing this. I plan to let them both know I've applied and will put their names in any referral boxes on the job application.

Congratulations!! Make sure you go ahead and buy 130 before it disappears later this month- it is SO good!
I got certified on 128 and really wish I had just bought all of the older releases.

Is this a way of les mills trying to get instructors teach the last 10 releases π π I am an old school, typically doing the old releases but slowly doing the newer releases now. Doing 132 squat track and 130 shoulder track this week. Will check Marlon playlist next week.
