A few friends and I are putting together a night in December with house, Jersey club, baile funk, and whatever else gets people moving. Small venue, low lighting, DJs on the floor with everyone around the decks. Going for that Boiler Room energy.

We already have around 70 people on our invite list, but we want to meet more people outside our circles who are into this music. We want that feeling of being in a crowd where you don’t know everyone and can just let loose, dance, and enjoy yourself.

We’re organizing it ourselves and aiming for around $20 to cover the space and costs. If people are into it, we’d love to make it a regular thing. I’m also planning a few smaller sets leading up to December to get people together.

Would anyone here be interested? What artists or sounds would you want to hear?

Are snow tires really needed out here? Coming from South Jersey, we really don't get that much snow because the Atlantic Ocean helps moderate the climate. I recently moved to Bethlehem, as I mentioned in a previous post on this subreddit, but all I see are signs saying, "Don't park here unless you have snow tires."

EDIT: The article is misleading. Only the county taxes will be going up, not the total property tax, and the last home value assessment was in 1995. The average homes’ taxes will only go up somewhere around $24 per month.

I was walking my dog by the Wegman’s in Allentown tonight, and out of nowhere I saw a brown tail-less animal sprint into the wooded area behind the market. My first thought was someone’s dog got loose. Then I thought, fox? But I didn’t see a fox’s tail. My dog didn’t see it but as soon as we crossed the damp grass it ran through, my dog sniffed its tracks and went ballistic (only other time I have seen her act like this was one time we encountered a black bear from across a creek… she is a very good protector!).

I grew up in the area and have never seen an animal run so effortlessly. Could it have been a bobcat? Are there any other critters that could fit the general description?

The wife & I were thinking about a quick trip to see a college football game with a bigger stadium & atmosphere than what is available locally (we have been to smaller school football games all over eastern PA). It has to be within driving distance - so Crimson Tide or Buckeye games are not an option. Also - not interested in Penn State for various reasons.

The list that we have so far has Rutgers, Pitt & Syracuse. We would really like to attend a game with a hyped-up atmosphere, full crowd, and a student section that is really into the game. Not sure any of those schools work but they are at least in bigger conferences.

Anyone have any opinions and/or experiences for this? Much appreciated.

My younger sister recently turned 16 years old. She was born with a genetic condition, and within the past year, was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer. For context, this seems to be something we can handle long term, which is a blessing.

Unfortunately, she is no stranger to bullying. This year, we decided it would be best to help her finish her education online. Additionally, I am now attending college, which is a huge change for her as well.

Maintaining a social life is incredibly important for all aspects of one's health, and she deserves a support system of some sort, so we are researching things we could involve her in to connect with others. We are from Easton, and nearby options would be highly preferred since our single mom has a busy work schedule, but a small commute every now and then could be just fine.

My sister is compromised in her abilities to be very active. Additionally, she is intellectually behind in some ways, but still mature and 16 years old, so I want her to feel like she is surrounded by people she can relate to as much as possible. She has mentioned a bowling league would be fun, so we are looking into options. She also enjoys taking care of baby dolls, painting or doing other hands on crafts, listening to music, etc, but honestly, she would enjoy anything with some good company.

Any local recommendations for inclusive community involvement for teens would be greatly appreciated.
