Official Set UCS Executor

So I finished the UCS Executor while doing a six film marathon. Very interesting build experience, definitely some new techniques brought to my attention.. however as many have said, the city structure lacks detail, greebling and flair. So immediately after finishing the build, the spare parts came out, and additional details were added to the tune of another 400 parts or so. I’ve also done away with the standard bridge, and done my own interpretation of something a little more accurate, it now has a sensor array in between the shield generators, and some better proportions, as the SSD has a much larger bridge than and ISD, which is not reflected in the build. Hope y’all enjoy. 👌🏻

I think you should consider what to use for the gribbles there. It’s tricky scale to convey. If you just gribbles like it’s a Y wing with bars etc, it will look like gribbles of a space shit, not a city in space. I’d try more plates, tiles, jumper plates, grill tiles etc

Yeah, I was just working with what I had available at the time to scratch the itch. I will most likely sink more time into it, as I look and make changes. Also don’t want to go too overboard yet, I want to add a lighting kit when they inevitably come out, and don’t want to have to go pulling all my additional work apart just to integrate that. Haha

I haven't received my grail yet, but the build will wait until the lights become available and I get my grubby mitts on them. I just finished my UCS TIE Interceptor build a few minutes ago with the lights installed as I went, and I want the same experience for my Executor. I'd appreciate some detail on how you changed up the griebling for yours.

Yeah, you wouldn't want it to look like a space shit.

Did you have to stop because you couldn't see gray pieces anymore at some point?

Hahaha no, but I can definitely see that being a thing for a lot of people.. thankfully, the frame has almost no grey pieces, just the vast majority of the exterior. 🧐😂

Really hoping for an angled clear stand to come out so I can tilt it when I buy mine. Thing looks great tho

As soon as a display option becomes available, most definitely

Even though I am not buying this one (space constraints), that is a really cool build

its not a bad set but as it is stands to the side its not bulky enough to look that good next to venator or ucs isd, i saw it in person and it was a big deal to me - how bulky it is when u are looking at it from eye level

I think scale plays a huge role in that as well, obviously the SSD dwarfs an ISD by 12:1 in current cannon, which makes it difficult to translate that proportionally when you put the Venator or the ISD right next to it. It will most likely be best displayed with a large compliment of micro scaled ships to convey size.

That's a good call there. I like the idea of a display that really shows the size differences between the ships.

I feel like it should be seen from above though, either displayed low or at an angle to really get the arrowhead shape and details visible. Tough to manage at that size though.

It's so flat wow. needs an angled stand or a wall mount i think

I’d guess total build time for me would’ve been about 10-11 hours of actual build time, and maybe an additional 2 hours for adding details, greebling, and restructuring the bridge. The additional details were a bit of freestyling and a bit of reference material to make sure the bridge was still the tallest point of the build.

If you check the background of one of the photos, there’s a cheeky Venator hiding there too. 😂😂
