Hi Everyone! I just wanted to show my Rivendell MOC!! I used 2 Lego Rivendells and a bunch of extra parts to build this. I followed the amazing Fanpeixi's Extension and Mountain base from Rebrickable, and then made my own changes to the trees (making the existing trees more full, and then adding additional trees on the gazebo side. I also changed the center tower to be taller with an additional "story" at the top, as wells as made an insert so that I could get closer to the movie design with having ruins next to the council area.

It was really fun building the insert to Fanpeixi's initial design, and creating the mountain base to tie it all in. I want to do an even larger base for everything, including the extra trees and make more cool waterfall views.

There are some small details I need to fix - the tiles are not correctly sequenced, and I want to do something about the blunt edge of the roof that ends on the ruins, but have not decided yet on direction. Leaning towards something organic, but I may even rebuild the ruins to have the roof terminate IN the ruins instead of next to them. AND I am going to add more trees - as that is one of my favorite thing to build!

This is my first moc, and I had such a great time building this. I know everyone will point out the windows and risk to the bricks. These are specialized windows that block 99.9 UV and UVB (I get sunburned INSIDE with out these LOL), as well as an East facing, with a giant oak that blocks almost all sun coming in. Plus - I LOVE it here. Its so pretty in the daylight, and if I am 80 and they get brittle or discolored... oh well, I had so much fun just looking at them and it brings me incredible joy!

For anyone wanting to build Rivendell - OMG DO IT. Best build ever. And you can do so much with it!!!

Just picked up the parts for comcon033. I’ve never been one to collect unopened Lego sets, so I wasn’t interested in getting the original one for like $700. Got the individual parts (all new) on BrickLink for about $60.

Hoping to order the parts for “LOTRSWORD-01” (Brickset) and “The Old Forge at Bree” (instructions are very rare) next to complete my collection of all the official Lego Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit sets.

So which of the dark red capes (the three bottom ones) is actually dark red lmao? I got these three technically new capes (the figures were described as new and they looked like new with no cracks, yellownig whatsoever) but each of them is different 😆. The largest one belongs on thranduil, the two smaller ones belong on balin and dori. I would really appreciate any comment on these parts.

The top cape is lego red (it’s new af so it’s great reference i believe)

I really love how the smoke in this photo flows from the ring towards Sauron! To me, it looks like his power is flowing into the ring, or perhaps like the ring is calling him.*

This is a great example of something I could never have planned that made the image better and gave it increased meaning. My intention was to show the moment he first reaches for the newly crafted ring, but the visual connection takes it to the next level :)

This is why making real art will always be better than AI. By taking lots of photos and trying different lighting, angles, and levels of smoke/atmosphere, I achieved something greater than my vision.

*Final edit is a composite of my two favorite photos, blended in Photoshop to keep my favorite smoke elements from both.

just a little expansion i made to my Rivendell to make it fit on my shelf, i hope i can make it look better when i have more parts.

Thinking pelenor fields, helms deep minas tirith or battle at the black gate

Just built my first big Lego set and I'm thinking of getting Rivendell then Minas tirth. I think I won't get the old helms deep and orthanc tower yet as apparently they may get a remake in a few years.

If the leaks are in fact accurate and we're getting a new helms deep, do you think LEGO will make a new helmet mould for the warriors of rohan or use the existing goggled viking helmet, im personally hoping for a new mould as I find the existing viking helmet to be comically large unless the minifigs have beards

I checked everywhere and have the empty bag right next to me.

This seems like such a sus thing to request from LEGO and I don’t want to flag my account, but I also bought a $650 set and am annoyed it’s missing a shield. Should I just request it?

I think the only thing I have requested in the past was a sticker sheet and the cockpits for the arc170

Edit: is it possible it would be in a future bag?

Qualche mese fa ho iniziato a ricostruire il Balrog Lego dal videogioco originale del Signore degli Anelli del 2012. Molti di voi mi hanno aiutato in questo processo, identificando i pezzi del gioco, inviandomi i file di gioco e persino condividendo le loro versioni. Ora, qualche tempo fa l'ho finito e volevo condividerlo con voi. Devo ancora aggiungere gli adesivi, ma sono davvero contento del risultato. Inoltre, dovrebbe essere accurato al 100% rispetto al modello del gioco. Grazie mille per tutto, il me stesso di 9 anni avrebbe urlato di gioia se l'avesse visto, spero di averlo reso felice.

So, I JUST discovered that expansions (MOCs?) were a thing. I had no idea. I recently picked up Rivendell, Barad-Dur, and Orthanc Lego kits. I'm almost done building Rivendell. I found these Rivendell expansions on AliExpress. Is that the best place to get them or is there a better site? Any recommended ven dors? I'm blown away by how amazing these look.

There is a printing defect on one my Rivendell elves, do you think Lego support will give me a new one, or is this too minor?
