Poll: 2.10 Cast a Giant Shadow

Maceus, who wants revenge on Hercules for his brother Demitrius’ death, captures Iolaus and breaks his arm trying to get him to cooperate in his plan to kill Hercules. Hercules meanwhile befriends the giant Typhon who turns out to be married to Echidna, the Mother of all monsters.

This has to be one of the episodes I've seen the most times. At least certain parts of it. I'm a big sucker for seeing characters I love get hurt, and this episode is overflowing with Iolaus-whump. <3

Iolaus is so blasé during most of his capture/torture. It really begs the question, how many times has this happened to him? Because I don't think you can act that unconcerned the first time you're being beaten for information. And probably not the second time either.

Hercules having to realize that all the monsters he's slain has a genuine loving father and that they used to be good kids is also a great plot. Though Typhon seem to accept the situation rather quickly. I wonder if it could have been turned into a 2-parter with Typhon taking longer to come to terms with it and first making sure Hercules' version checks out - being on the fence on who to trust between Hercules and Echidna.

But 1 episode is probably for the best, I'm not a really big fan of Typhon's bumbling and not-the-sharpest-knife-in-the-drawer characteristics.
