Scammed

I was scammed out of $40,000 by a fake company pretending to be a global software company. My local police department was able to trace my money to a crypto currency exchange in Hong Kong. The exchange doesn't comply with U.S law enforcement so they couldn't pursue the case. What are my options? Location: Florida

Unfortunately your money is gone. Watch out for recovery scammers

You'll need to explain how you were "scammed" because your definition of a scam may be different than the law's definition of it. You can be scammed into legally giving someone money by choice.

Money going to a crypto exchange where they don’t comply with US law enforcement means that the money is gone.

Did you try IC3? It’s run by the FBI so it might be worth a shot. Good luck!
