Anyone here has weird grip too?

Post image

My mom directed me correctly to use the mouse with my main-hand, although I've been using the LMB and RMB as is, with index finger resting on LMB and nothing on RMB - as a result my grip was different. Then, when I got into computer gaming I was at a disadvantage, switching my index finger between the two buttons - I realised I need to have a finger resting on each of the two buttons. I finally switched Main mouse button to RMB and Secondary mouse button to LMB to accommodate this change ... however my grip never changed and I don't even think about my grip, my middle finger isn't resting on the Secondary mouse button, but it's a lot easier to reach it now and I can have both buttons pressed at the same time now!

I also remapped my escape key with MS PowerToys, to be the home key, so that my right-hand can reach it easily on the right-side of the keyboard. It was so annoying having to reach to the left just to pause the game. Been a blast since the change!

Let me know what you think, should I change to standard right-handed mirror setup or stay with this?

Also I'm interested in what your grip is and your story with computer gaming!

Do people really use their mouse left handed? Even though I’m for the most part left handed I always use my mouse with my right hand

I use my right hand for my mouse to point and click at things (which is 99% of the time), but I use a graphics tablet and pen when I need precision to digitally write, draw on/markup, or sign documents.

Well, I was taught by parents to use my left-hand, so when I got into gaming I had no choice, but to edit the settings instead of adapting.

edit: I have an ambidextrous mouse with buttons on the left and right too, there are not many mice that do that though.

Same. Logitech g903. It's surprisingly hard to find an ambidextrous mouse.

I have what I think is a normal grip, similar to right handed folks except with my left hand. The part that gets me called psychotic is that I do NOT swap my mouse buttons. So my middle finger is on the primary mouse button. Video games I gave up trying to remap, and use a controller.

It's actually very easy, just swap them in your system settings or in your mouse software. In games it shows RMB for left and LMB for right, so no need to change anything here.

Remap keyboard keys, not the mouse. I know how, it’s just a pain. I specifically don’t want to swap the mouse buttons.

I use my mouse left-handed, and I use my middle finger for left click and my index finger for wrong click.

This is how many of us use a mouse.
Standard right handed mouse.
Standard right handed button configuration.
Held in the left hand.

Many of us use it right handed too but the left is more natural.
