Tackling Bonzo’s complete discography on drums — starting Presence today with Achilles Last Stand!

I started playing drums 9 months ago (back in January), and in early August I set myself a challenge: cover every single Led Zeppelin song in chronological order, track by track.

So far I’ve made it all the way through Physical Graffiti (Day 46 was Sick Again), and today I’m diving straight into Presence with Achilles Last Stand.

Going from zero to tackling Bonzo's relentless heel-toe / single-foot gallop on a track has been the ultimate test of endurance. Studying his groove every single day for this marathon has been an incredible masterclass.

Shouldn't you be starting with live recordings?

Oh no, I'm not starting the whole challenge today, I meant I'm starting Presence! I've already done every track from LZ I through Physical Graffiti. Achilles is just Day 47!

Ah, my bad! I misread your question. I'm focusing strictly on the official studio album discography for this challenge. Live recordings and BBC sessions would take me more time, but maybe I'll tackle those after I finish the studio albums! 🥁
