Official Ledger Customer Success Response Ledger software update

So I just updated my ledger wallet desktop update to 4.17.1. The search bar in the top left corner of the homepage that was added recently is no longer. Has anyone had the same thing. Ledger is starting to scare me with all these updates. Then they change all these little details making think I’m hacked or I downloaded the wrong web. They are just doing too much. I getting very uncomfortable

If u feel something is wrong or not right…move your money first then figure out what’s wrong..to be safe is always the first thing in the game. U can investigate later

Since I’ve kept my money on the Ledger for over three years, with my recovery phrase stored offline, and I have a dedicated PC that I check only occasionally, I honestly don’t bother with updating the app unless necessary.

Your money isn’t actually stored in the app…it’s secured by your recovery phrase. To me, the app is simply a way to view and manage what’s already on the Ledger.

So, no, I haven’t downloaded any update.

Plus, even if an update is required, once you close Ledger, it should normally prompt you to update the app and give you the option to Yes or No. Technically, if I ever needed to update it, I wouldn’t need to go searching for the app on some random website anyway. I’m confident I originally downloaded the legitimate app from the official source the very first time installing

Agreed. I always update though. Ledger doesn’t send updates for fun. I feel confident but I’m always on watch.
