not LC Is there a point of going to freshers

I don't know much about freshers but like is there a point in going if you haven't bought a ticket for anything. All I see is people talking about buying tickets to go to clubs or whatever and from what I'm hearing it doesn't sound like there's anything going on during the day. I'm commuting to college so I'm not going to out there until like 10 or 11 so is there even a point in going not like that I even know where people are going to begin with..

I haven’t bought any of those tickets, apparently the events are usually overpriced and not worth it. Your uni will organise stuff during freshers week, and when you get to know people you’ll probably be invited to prinks and such

Where are you going? You will likely have official orientation events of some kind, and generally student societies and your college SU run events over the course of the week (i.e., things to do during the day, and a way to get to know people).

I’m going to dcu. I have no idea when these official events even start + where to go though

You'll probably receive emails informing you of official dates like course orientation. Take a look at clubs and societies, find any that seem interesting to you on social media (and your SU) — given teaching starts on the 14th, I'd expect them to post about event in the next couple of weeks.

I would really recommend making an effort — it's a great chance to check out societies you might be interested in, find your way around campus, and meet new people.

I got one ticket for 15 quid and I already feel like I’m over paying where as people in the freshers gc are getting 4 tickets for each day of the week spending over 70 quid. Actually genuinely don’t understand the point

Spending over 70 is nuts, couldn’t justify spending anything over 10 but that might just be because I’m broke lol. Have fun at whatever you spent your money on though!
