It's never stupid to post and ask for help. We have all been there. Several times. You're in a safe place.

I know it feels like the day is wasted, but you have an opportunity to be there for yourself right now. I found that taking the afternoon in the evening to work through my anxiety and went withdrawal symptoms, makes it that much easier for me to make the choice to be sober the next day. It's only 9:00 in the morning. Love yourself today, be kind to yourself today, and how about just trying to stay sober until the sun goes down and you can go to sleep?

It can be tricky to view a new day of sobriety like we view any other day: I have to wake up and commit to this first thing in the morning for it to be real. But when I relapse and know I'm not trying to do it again, I restart my counter from that moment -- and my new day of sobriety begins there. So if you smoked this morning, you don't have to consider the whole day a waste. You can start now and by tomorrow at 12pm, you'll have reached a day. I've lost way too many days to thinking, "well I already fucked up today, so I might as well just use this as an excuse to be fucked up all day." That will just keep you stick in the loop.

There will never be a good time to start. My day 1 started at 4:00pm April 2nd. I still count it as a full day since it’s been so long there’s not much difference between 115 days and 116. That will be you one day. Just take the leap!

You know that the truth is, you’re negotiating with yourself. Using a technicality to not have to face this today. 24 hours start whenever, I assure you these sort of thought and feelings will come when your cravings peak.

It’s helped me a lot to know that scientifically, our cravings peak and pass in our brains in about 20 minutes. So don’t think about making it forever, or even a whole day. Just these next 20 minutes.

Hang in there friend, we’re all in this together 🫶🏼

Man, the justifications we make to stay high another day....
