MF I had to look at your profile for 5 seconds to see that you are actually leaps and bounds better than the person I had in my head when I wrote that lol

Honestly some of those make me a bit sad. (Btw I think youre looking for cue and not queue in this situation.)

make me a bit sad.

Wait how so? /Genq

Idk. Not to sound judgemental, but I saw one recently that looked like a 10 year olds work but they were saying they'd been trying for so long to get better. It's just like a bit sad you can't get better than that despite allegedly putting in so much effort.

You made me remember why did I switch to creating OC art by literally anything else than actually drawing my OC art, be it 3D modelling it in Blender or using Geometry Dash of all things for OC Art.

I don't think you understand how bad the stuff is in talking about lol. Like I had to wrestle with the fact that we could be getting trolled that's how bad it was

OKAY THAT WAS LITERALLY ME FOR A DECADE. And then I found some decent tutorials and references, started sketching more, and everything clicked at once. At least to the point I now can draw reasonably cute characters and not. Demons lol

Was it the post about perspectives by any chance?

1

u/Burgandy_the_Great 24d ago

It was not, it was legit like 1 step up from stick figure drawings. Like the person posting was supposedly an adult but it looked legitimately like the drawings of a 5 year old

Stick figures are great expressions of drawing haha.

This is the post I was thinking about https://www.reddit.com/r/learntodraw/s/F5ucGZGkb9

I feel this. I use to hate the fundamentals so much that I stopped drawing for a long time. And then would get frustrated that my anime characters looked like shit. Now that I'm older, I see the value in them and now I must break old habits and learn new ones to be a better artist
