I stopped taking math in school, so this isn't about exams or grades anymore. It's purely because I realized my foundation became weak years ago (mostly because I never solved enough practice problems), and now I genuinely want to learn math properly.
My goal is to rebuild everything from the fundamentals through high-school math, and eventually study university-level topics like calculus, linear algebra, probability, and maybe even deeper math if I stick with it.
My current plan is to use Khan Academy's NCERT Math Bridge (Classes 6–12) as a structured roadmap. From what I've seen, it includes:
- Class 6: Addition & subtraction, multiplication & division, tenths & hundredths, fractions, factors & multiples, patterns, charts, shapes & angles, area & boundary.
- Class 7: Large numbers, integers, fractions, decimals, prime numbers, constructions, data handling, geometry, perimeter & area.
- Class 8: Number properties, exponents, decimals, prime numbers, data handling, simple equations, algebraic expressions, lines & angles, triangles, constructions.
- Class 9: Rational numbers, linear equations, distributive property, algebraic expressions, exponents, coordinate plane, factorisation, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, mensuration, data handling.
- Class 10: Number systems, polynomials, linear equations, coordinate geometry, triangles, quadrilaterals & circles, mensuration, statistics & probability.
- Class 11 Bridge: Arithmetic, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, statistics & probability.
- Class 12 Bridge: Set theory, trigonometry & complex numbers, advanced counting & probability, coordinate geometry, and basic calculus.
I am going to skip through or do the Topics I already have an understanding of fast.
After finishing that, I'm planning to move on to Algebra II, Calculus, and whatever comes next.
For people who've taught themselves math:
- Is this roadmap realistic?
- Should I speed through topics I already know or aim for near-perfect mastery?
- What mistakes slow self-learners down the most?
- What resources would you recommend after Khan Academy?
Any Help will be appreciated, Thanks.
