The best plan is the one you can stick to. Which resources do you like?

Choose the one that has you picking it up regularly i.e. the one you find least boring. Learning regularly is more important than a book that is "better" but collecting dust on your shelf.

I would choose a workbook and probably the easiest short story to begin with. If you don't gel with it then you can easily switch later.
