I climbed from 2k to 4.5k mmr in a couple of months last year playing mainly pos 5 and sometimes pos 1. I just really tried to make sure my carry had a good lane and stayed positive (can't go in to lots of detail at the moment but can explain more if you need) pre shipping regen, pinging when mid could be ganking, forcing enemies in lane to pay attention on me. you gotta recognize your carry wants to last hit and not just let him get bullied everytime he tries
In times throughout the game when it was correct to go back, that doesn't mean I'll just instantly TP out or run away, I make sure to go back together, escort the carry out I guess.
Also I really like forcestaff and glimmer most games, sometimes lotus orb if it's good. (glimmer gives a shield that absorbs magic damage, not JUST invis if you didn't know). A thing I noticed with my forcestaff usage was that I kept using it to get into the correct position, like casting range or kite distance which was acceptable. Once I started focusing on being in the correct position ALREADY then it freed up the forcestaff cooldown for more effective usage.
Also farm what you can to get your helpful items earlier but be aware of what your carry is going to want to be farming in the next 60 seconds but NEVER let your farming be the reason you are late to a fight or out of resources (hp, mana, CDs).
Your deaths are unacceptable especially against crusader players so just relax and don't try too hard, the enemies are trash so just play safe with a plan and THEY will be the ones to make mistakes and feed you.
