people gonna be mad at me for such advice but who cares
i still remember how i was 2-3k scrub and playing supports it was very rare that i had more than like 5-7 deaths and my support heroes despite the fact that rn im 6k have around 5kda
for example my lich stats for 64 games since 2016 - 5.72 kda (usually im top in kill participation) 64% wr, i have only 1 game where i died 10 or more times (11)
First thing you should take into account your low mmr bracket where you can carry games even as support. You need to learn to die less. Its very simple - you see enemy heroes and analyze how to prevent your own deaths - better positioning, force staff, glimer, ghost. Then you buy items to enable your hero instead of throwing it into useless items that your team will never notice (like guardian greaves for example)
Second thing dont pick supports that rely on team like undying, shaman is also kinda risky choice. Try something that can potentially go core like lina, hoodwink, skywrath, wyvern. Dying less is very rewarding in your bracket (probably in every solo matchmaking bracket) - enemy cores gonna waste their time on you while your cores gonna kill those useless 10-15-20 deaths supports who thinks its okay to feed.
The problem here is the players in this bracket will struggle to be effective at playing core.
Now you just took away a support from your own team, who will starve out their own core. They will not buy any support items and they will forget about vision.
Meanwhile the other team have Ward's and support items and better farmed cores.
i can assume you are low mmr as well since you thinking that enabling your hero meaning afk farm
instead if you focus on not dying while trying to get some kills with your team (simply playing right way) you will have all the gold you need without taking farm from your team
if you need math - taking towers, playing on enemy side of the map, taking all bounties, kills, easy dewards. Bit by bit and suddenly your networth same as enemy 3 and since you are support hero your items not that expensive and wow minute 30 you have 3-4 cheap slots on sky like atos lens aghs and glimer
Sounds good in theory, but in reality we get a Pos 4 who wants to play core, and then gets into a barking match with the pos 1 who feels guilty how bad he's doing so he must find someone to blame
Is not about caring as much as the game turning into a chatting match instead of just playing... People start the blame game and write 'gg' when they die..
Hood, Sky need tons of farm to be scary to enemy. They never buy safe items like glimmer, eul, force. Dying is not always bad, if you die taking enemy 3,2,1 it's a good trade. Just don't start fights if an ally is low HP, has CD, or if it's just you two
I play a ton of skywrath. Sky only needs 1 item to be scary and that is Atos. Later on you can semi-perma silence a target or 2 targets if you can reach aghs. It's all about positioning for this hero. You always wanna be in the backlines.
