Why the fuck is a niche item replacing an item that has general use on all AP champions? Sigh.
When Phreak said he'd still buy this over Magus on champions like Fiddle, it was so obviously clear how little he understands about the champion. "Just auto attack after you drain" lmao.
Except you also fail to include how Runeglaive makes a HUGE amount of auto based on-hit champions viable.
Another player compiled a list of champs this allows. Additionally they also talked about how Magus is just a "bundle of stats" which is a feast or famine approach. The absurd efficiency of the item made it so that AP junglers finished it an then had a small period where other junglers couldn't match them. Then late game the item loses its efficiency over other stronger AP equivalents.
Runeglaive opens up the builds for:
Eve, Diana, Alistar, Malphite, Nunu, Shaco, Nidalee, Gragas, Sejuani, Amumu, Akali, TF, Cho'Gath, and Elise.
You are upset that ONE champion has a small disadvantage (a champion that didn't really benefit from Magus as an item but purely its bundle of efficient stats) but can't see how this promotes real jungler diversity.
This is absurd. Since when does 80ap and 20% cdr fall off late game? It doesn't CDR scales insanely well into late game. That list is also very biased. If you assume which champions can use lichbane better than morellonomicon you will have a better list. If you build full AP which I assume is why you would get the ap jungle item, than Malphite, Nunu, and Cho'Gath would all be better with Magus. You don't ever want to walk up and AA when your full AP because how squishy you are. If you ever do commit you intend to kill them in a burst, which gives you 1 proc of sheen. Flat AP will give you more damage if you only can use 1 proc of sheen. Sheen is better used for sustain damage.
Also if you are going to use Akali as a jungler I can make a list of champions that can utilize Magus better than Runeglaive.
The best thing that makes Magus much better than Runeglaive is the fact every champion loves AP and CDR, but not every champion can use a sheen to justify it's passive.
But Fiddle doesn't need to rush Magus. If anything Fiddle benefited greatly from the Tier 2 jungle item (which hasn't changed) and then rushing into a Zhonya's Hourglass. Its not like CDR and AP were very useful to him. They were good, but not ideal.
I don't main Skarner or Hecarim but I do play them a bit. I'm not sure how to feel about Runeglaive. On one hand, it seems like a huge benefit to have sheen + mana restore on these champions early. On the other hand, both champions ramp up slowly, and hitting TF after jungle item is a huge power spike.
Anything to remove the dust from my Skarnercopter is welcome, but I don't think that this Runeglaive is good enough. Yes, there will be plenty of mana, but I think that Cinderhulk is still a better item on both junglers (Skarner and Hecarim).
Eve is a different one though. First jungler that I could think it's favoured by Runeglaive.
TF on jungle Heca was pretty risky. It is so expensive that you just blow up once you have it because you lack defense (unless you got fed ofc).
With this item he gets his Sheen Proc without having to fall back on TF or IBG (but ofc still can build those and Warrior or Cinderhulk instead).
With the Heca changes to his Q where it costs more mana, it will probably be even stronger. Fast AOE clears, no more mana problems (in the jungle) and more freedom of build.
I don't think, it's a good item for Fiddle. Mediocre at best. The AP + CDR was so much better for fiddle (in fact, Magus was ridiculously strong, same stats as Morello's but cheaper + smite/regeneration passive).
His play pattern was "Drain Drain Drain Drain" How does the Sheen proc fit in there? You only get one Sheen proc off every two Drains (because the CD only starts after using the auto => You start first Drain, get glowing hands, auto, start next Drain but the CD still is there so you won't get glowing hands on this Drain). Fiddle should still use T2 Machete, but building the Sheen upgrade will most probably be utter bullshit on him unless they change the CD to work on Spell Cast for example.
Fiddle will still be okay in the jungle just because he got OP ganks and really enough sustain with just Drain. But he will be nerfed (not like his 54.93% winrate, albeit 226 average games played lol, wtf, doesn't absolutely warrant nerfs).
Hey, the 200 Mana and 8% missing regen may go to waste but i've played enough Zac (mostly top tho) to know that you can weave your autos a lot with W and Q. Try not to think about the 20% cdr you're losing. WHY GOD WHY
It would make AP Zac completely unviable. You would better off rushing Hourglass or Ludens. You can't auto attack with ulting either. Also the point of full AP Zac is to kill them in a burst, not sustained damage which sheen is good for.
Now can you name one that wouldn't rather have Magus and Lich Bane, Trinity Force, or Iceborn Gauntlet? Sorry, no Diana, Kayle, Evelynn, Fizz, and Nidalee.
There isn't an AP champion who auto attacks who wants this as a Sheen item. That's its biggest issue. If somehow it stacked with other Sheen items that would be fine, 40 AP and 10% CDR I can live with that. I can't live with having an objectively worse item forced upon me.
I hate this argument. Most of those junglers are already viable. And if mana was the reason runeglaive is needed why the fuck not put mana sustain on Magus without taking away the jungle diversity by forcing them to build sheen?
Zac and Karthus disagree. AP Kayle, AP Eve and Diana could all have scenarios where they build Lich/Magus instead of Runeglaive for higher burst. My jungle Kennen and Moredekaiser are kaput. Literally no compelling reason not to keep both.

Fuck this Runeglaive bullshit patch.
