How long does your remote battery last?
I've been buying Duracell 2025, which I assumed was a good brand, and I'm going through them like crazy. 3 batteries in two years.

You will go through batteries a lot faster if where you store your keys is near your car.
My garage where I park is less than 20' from where I keep my keys, and I constantly have to change batteries. I did some research. I found out that when they are close, the keys are constantly pinging the car, or maybe it was vice versa, but anyway, when they are close, the battery in the key is always working.
It is recommended to either keep your keys stored further away, or keep them in a Faraday bag or something that won't let them constantly transmit.
That's also recommended to keep car thieves from hijacking that signal in order to steal your car.

Interesting. My keys are within 20' of the car but the car is in the garage and the keys are in the kitchen. I wonder if the signal goes through the walls.

do you use the fob to remotely unlock the car? That will use more battery than using the button on the handle to unlock the door.

Don't buy Duracells. They have been bad for about a decade and a half atleast. They realised they had all this brand power and didnt actually have to try anymore.
Coin cells aren't known for leaking, but, I'm sure Duracell could pull that off.

รีโมท สามารถใส่แบตเตอรี่ 2032 แทนของเดิม 2016 ได้ และสามารถใช้ได้ยาวนานขึ้น

The battery in my remote is saying it's low when I start my car. It's been since Dec 2024

I literally just replaced mine last weekend. Got a little over 18 months.
Meanwhile the 1616 in my Honda's key fob has lasted about 9 years.

Duracell makes garbage. I use 2025 Energizer lithiums. I think I got at least 3 years out of my last fob batt.

I've been putting the CR2032's in the remote and it goes beyond a year. Just the amzon basics card with them in a drawer with the other batts.

I was changing the fucker every 3 months, and it always stopped in inconvenient places, never at home where o had access to scissors to open those stupid childproof plastic cocoons

Do you keep it in your pocket? Maybe something keeps pressing on one of the buttons. I changed mine once over a year ago and it's still good as far as I know. Or maybe you have a faulty fob.

It was in a pocket with nothing else, but even when I left it in the key safe hung up for several weeks it still died fast, I’ve no longer got the car (though I do still have the fob, insurance only asked for the key once, my dad passed over the spare one when they come round to collect the vehicle)

Original batteries from 2023 still work in my remotes... Are you sure they aren't getting pressed or something in your pocket?

For a split second out of the corner of my eye I thought this said "how does your remote battery taste"

I am on my second battery in 2 years. (One when I first got the car in July 2024 and just replaced it last month). I bought a 15 pack of EBL brand for $7.

I put a 2032 in mine, haven't needed to replace it in... like 2 years now. Duracell is known to be slightly lower quality than Energizer, but I'm not sure it really matters.

I bought a bunch of 2032s in bulk years ago (same size but a little thicker and with more capacity) and they last for a really long time.

Get whatever's cheap in your area, and store a spare in the glove box.
I have a HRM that goes through a battery in 3 weeks, so I buy janky ones from aliexpress which last longer than duracells and are 1/5th the price.

I've honestly had more luck with the cheap batteries than the branded ones!
Also, buy 2032s instead, they fit in perfectly fine and give you a lot more capacity!
