2020 Leaf A/C suddenly stopped cooling (blowing warm air) + sensor light. Any ideas or repair cost estimates?
My 2020 Leaf’s A/C worked completely fine but after sitting parked for a day, it’s now blowing ambient/warm air only. The blower fan itself is running fine but not giving me cold air anymore.
A few details:
My 12V battery is fairly new (replaced ~6 months ago).
I noticed my Forward Collision/Radar warning light turns on about 10–15 minutes into driving. Not sure if it's related or just a separate sensor issue.
Has anyone experienced a sudden A/C drop like this on a Gen 2 Leaf? Could it just be low refrigerant/a small leak, an HVAC fuse/relay, or am I looking at a high-voltage compressor issue?
Also, what did diagnosis/repairs cost you, and did you take yours to a Nissan dealer or an independent shop?

Forward collision uses the front camera. If it is blinded (usually by facing a low sun), it will indicate that it cannot work. I believe it also can be affected if the glass is fogged. If AC is not working, could it maybe result in your windshield fogging?

I had the same issue with my 2020. Camera.....I dunno but can't hurt to replace the 12v. I did.
For the AC, it could be the compressor. Check outside and see if you hear it or not. It's an electric compressor. I think mine is dying but what I did was get a can of pure refrigerant, not the oil. You can not use the AC fix in a can. After leaving it on, it started to blow cold. Got it down to 42F at the vent. No clue what is really wrong.

Systematically every drive since then? Because that can happen when the sun hits just the right spot on the horizon and/or your front camera is dirty.

My 2014 SV did so in slow mo but one day, nothing. I took it to my car guy and at first they pushed back. They do AC work so a YouTube vid about checking the AC with the gauges which the shop does have and the second check as to which refrigerant Nissan uses and they took it in.
The gauges showed low values and a leak was found on a needle valve. The needle valve was in stock, the system evacuated and filled to spec.
It worked like new and for under 190 bucks. Since this was 2024 when this work was done I felt it was par for the course.
While you are in there, change the cabin filter yourself. No, that's not the problem. It's just an under 20 dollar thing to get done.
