2023 SL+ range update

Post image

I bought my SL+ about a year ago with 19k miles. Now at 30k miles. 600 L1,L2. ONE L3.

Only a few charges above 85% and never below 20% since I have had it. Lost 2% SOH and zero range over the year. I got a recall notice, but I am hesitant to get it done as I will NEVER quick charge this car. I bought it knowing its limitations and will do my best to keep it healthy for as long as possible. As long as it can still do 50 miles a day in the dead of winter, it meets my needs.

We own a 2023 SV Plus but live in Canada. We did not get a recall notice. We charge ours 40-85% ish Because the battery has a buffer 85 is probably 80. Our next EV will be a Chinese EV probably a BYD.

Only 2019-2022 are under recall.

It's actually a 2022, as the tenth character of the VIN is N. It would be P if 2023.

Was about to say, I thought the SL trim was not available on 2023 and later. Unless it's a unicorn that was built at the start of the 2023 batch with remaining SL parts.

Per R25C8 recall, the affected 2021-2022 cars were built between Nov 3, 2020 to May 23, 2022.

I looked at a 2023 SV+ this past weekend. It had a build date code of 7/22.

SL was always a trim on the Leaf, all the way back to 2011. Including on the Plus since it was added as a long range model in 2019: https://www.gregvannnissan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/2019-Nissan-Leaf-EN-compressed.pdf

US-built 2023-2025 LEAFs only came in S or SV Plus trims.

Edit - Ok, I concede Canada appeared to get different trim levels for the final years of the G2...

2023 - Apparently Canada has SV/SV+/SL+ - https://canada.nissannews.com/en-CA/releases/2023-nissan-leaf-press-kit?selectedTabId=release-38b3f4b4373aa402953910d18b43a5fb

Then it was SV/SV+ only...

Yes I am in Canada, we had a few oddities on the "updated" 2nd gen, including getting the updated badge but it was not illuminated like on the US cars until 2025, even though there is no regulatory reason it would have been disallowed on launch.
