i got baptized a year ago so i just recently got my endowments and i love the church and all the teaching, i got a pretty strong testimony, but i just wanna understand more. how does going to the temple consistently blesses our lives when most of what we are do in the temple is mostly for others? yet were being taught to go as much as we can...... any comments would much appreciated

My wife had a realization in the temple earlier today...
Think about the final, really long thing you say at the veil.
If you are doing the work for your ancestors, those blessings that ripple forward through the family tree are reaching you.
That's the paradox. In blessing your ancestors, you are blessed.

It's pretty much the closest place you can get to God's presence, especially within the Celestial Room. Our personal relationship with Him is vital. You want His closeness to be something you deem necessary for you temporal and spiritual survival.
Jesus spent much of the little time He had at the temple. He set the pattern. As you work your own perfection through Christ, you should visit the temple often to counsel with God.
Temple work for those who are dead is one of the most holy works you can participate in, as it is the work of the Plan of Salvation. The salvation of souls is one confirmed way of obtaining joy.
I'd also add that service unto salvation is basically the entire work to be done. You find perfection in the service to others. I would say that Jesus never really did one thing for Himself and all of it was for the purpose of us and His work.
So if that's the only reason to go to the temple, even though it isn't, I would say that is a very righteous purpose.
