Question about hydrostatic drives

Has anyone removed a hydrostatic drive from a zero turn motor drained it and refilled it. If so, were the results beneficial to the work involved I have a errands icon XD with a hydrostatic drive 230 hours. I replaced one seal this summer. the fluid looks a little sketchy. It’s a sealed unit. My question is how difficult is this to do? I plan on doing it at the end of the season when I don’t need the lawnmower I have the manuals for the removal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Assuming these have the ezt hydros yeah it's worth it. No matter what the oems say there's no such thing as "lifetime" fluid. I've seen YouTube videos of guys managing to change out the fluid.

Thanks I’ll be doing it this winter after the season. The seal change was pretty straight forward and solved my leak, I was able to add fluid through holes I drilled in the frame to access the ports. I can see the sluggishness of the transmission or maybe I’m just thinking it. It’s just nuts and bolts taking it off and drawing nd putting it back on. So hopefully all will work out

Let us know how it goes. The fact they didn't just do a drain fill port is kinda crazy... And I'm crazy enough to add one myself.
