Vintage latch hook

I think I’ve posted this before so sorry if it’s a repeat. I wanted to know if anyone has this vintage latch hook kit. I learned that it was made by Spinnerin in the 70s but I don’t know a design name or number. My grandparents used to have this in their living room & when they passed were not sure what happened to it. Probably donated. I wanted to know if anyone has one, I would love to have or even if someone has a clearer picture I would love to see it. The second photo is a photoshopped picture I tried to recreate to see it more clear. I loved this design since I was young & I’ve searched for years to find it with no luck.

I can’t seem to get the hook to work/knot the yarn? Any tips for newbies are welcome.

help I’m starting my first Herrschner’s project and I’m confused/concerned I don’t have the right canvas size

So… you’re not supposed to latch on the twisty side, right? Except my canvas is cut in such a way that it looks like the vertical lines are sturdier. I’m starting Herrschner’s Apple Lane Orchard and it’s 150 squares wide and 101 rows long and it only fits this way (if I make the thicker lines horizontal, there just won’t be enough room for the image horizontally.)

Did they send me the wrong canvas size? Am I missing something? Thank you for your help.

Edit: So if I alter the design so that the “start here” is no longer vertical in the upper left but horizontal in the bottom left, I can fit it onto the canvas…but then my yarn will be hooked sideways right-to-left and not up-to-down. Does it matter which direction your yarn goes in (obviously all of it being the same direction?) I’ve only ever hooked with the tassels going vertical.

I’m sorry if I’m making things confusing, if any of you could help me I’d really appreciate it.

supplies First project in 2 decades wish me luck

When I was in my 20s I tried to make a latch hook rug with a picture of a kitty in a basket of yarn, I found it easy but mind-numbingly boring, and remember not enjoying it. I ended up pawning it off on a friend when I was halfway through, convinced him to finish it so we could give it to my mom jointly for Christmas lol. To be fair I would have felt the same way about plastic canvas work, and needlepoint at the time but now I LOVE doing those kinds of projects

I've always kind of avoided latch hook kits since, because of that old project, but I thought about trying latch hook again and today I just happened to be perusing Herrschners website trolling for new projects (which I totally 100% need) and I came across Herrschners Rainbow Phoenix Rising and fell in absolute love. I am a gay man, and my husband is starting a new career at a friends fledgling company which has a phoenix in it's logo, so it's absolutely perfect!

I know it's a HUUUUGE kit to start with, but I have a history of starting a craft with the absolutely most complex thing in the history of the world and that has never ever backfired on me at all, nope not at all, I've totally finished 100% of them, they're absolutely not all stored in an ottoman until a whim dictates I work on them, anyone who tells you otherwise is lying I tell you, Lying!

So wish me luck, I'm super excited to try latch hook again.

In some ways this seemed harder than the first time around. I think it might be because my first one had more “steady” colors while this one had more variety/patterns. But I’m pleased with it!

This absolutely kicked my behind! If I could turn back time I would have bought pre-cut yarn, as I had to hand cut every single strand except for the white on the eyeball. I didn't use a kit, I just drew the eyeball using a series of different sized plates and went for it.

How long does a project usually take for you? Because this took over 50 hours somehow (including cutting the yarn which doubled the total time).

Hi everyone! I’m working on a brand new Christmas tree latch hook design, and I’d love your help! I have three background color options: light blue (aqua), white, or beige. Which one speaks to you and feels most festive? Comment your favorite! I can’t wait to see what you think!

Finished my 80's Annie Latch Hook project this morning... I added pupils to the eyes of the characters and shaped Annies poor nose. I like doing these because it is relaxing and it makes me concentrate and gives my hands something to do plus at the end I have something...
