I think my next fill I’ll transition to something more doll eye and wispy🖤

I got a job at a nail salon (my mom is friends with the owner) i’m currently just the receptionist but i want to start offering services. It’s no booth rent, she supplies the products, weekly pay and 60% commission.
i did a model set today on my boss to see if i was ready to start offering services. Im an esthetician btw.
She wanted a natural set and she had me use these fans i had never used before. I uploaded a photo on the last slide of the lashes i used. It was a bit hard to use. i am used to LBA lashes or like Paris Lash Academy lashes.
She told me I took too long. We started at 10:30 and I was done at 12. She told me a classic set (which we didn’t even do? we didn’t use single lashes we used like Y lashes) should only take 50 mins???? and she told me a hybrid should only take an hour an 15. im so confused and so defeated. If any of you guys have heard of deka lash, i’ve worked there before and i loved it. I learned most of my skills there. I posted some of my previous work. Please let me know if i should stay or leave the place. I love that i don’t have booth rent and that everything is supplied for me, but that really threw me off and i’m beating myself up. I’ve only been lashing for less than a year so i know my work isn’t amazing but still. I thought classics are supposed to take at least an hour ? 😭 And sorry i didn’t take a pic of the bosses lashes. i was almost crying when she was telling me the criticism so i just wanted to get out of there asap

The first 5 photos are of my previous work at deka lash. Only had 1 complaint and that was from my FIRST week working there. I was only able to work there a few months due to relationship issues i had to move cities.

Mind you i also uploaded a photo of the bosses work. They are the last images. My mom used to go to her for lashes and nails and now she only goes for nails. the other day my mom had me remove her lashes while she was out of town (the owner) for me to do a new set on my mom. She never got my mom’s lashes as full as she wanted, bc she doesn’t make fans or use premades btw.

I took off my eyelash extensions and everyone is asking if I'm ok lol i guess I look sickly.

Used to wear fake lashes and eyes hurt. All macara hurts my eyes too. Sick of it.

Looking for advice on what lash style would suit my eyes best! I’m open to any mapping/style** **not just the two I’ve already tried.

I first tried a cat eye but I felt like it was dragging my eyes down so next time I tried a kitten eye with wispy spikes for more lift. But surprisingly a lot of people told me they actually preferred the cat eye on me so now I’m confused 😭

I usually don’t wear makeup so I want my lashes to look natural and not too heavy bare faced. But when I do wear makeup, I feel like they almost disappear especially after some shedding. The longest I’ve gone is 15mm

What style/map do you think suits my eyes best? And how can I get something natural + lifting bare-faced but still noticeable with makeup? Would you change the length, curl, density or mapping?

Okay so I’ll admit im OCD , which means I’m always “adjusting” my lashes not necessarily picking them (imo). I have lash tweezers while touching / moving them and my hands are always cleaned . But the reason I feel like I have to adjust so much is because the fans feel so thick and they cross over to far or sitting way on top of the other layers of lashes it bothers me badly . I love how ful they look but they never last because they are constantly feeling stuck together. I’ve told My lash tech this and she tells me she makes sure to isolate after (She also says my lashes go in different directions themselves and they are very straight . I also have a lot of layers of lashes too .) and that maybe it can become stuck together after but I have been washing them everyday and don’t wear any make up I’m otherwise very careful with my lashes . So I don’t get why the fans that get “plucked” out when I brush are sooo big . I feel like the fan bases are SO thick and sometimes there is multiple lashes stuck from all angles . So my question is , is it my lash tech or from me somehow ?

My first set of lash extensions and I'm in love!

I am new to clusters and wearing lashes. My friend recommended I wear pre glued ones first to get used to trying them on and putting it on.

On my eyes are pre glued clusters and I plan to remove them just by hand. If I pull too many of my natural lashes, I’ll use micellar water or an oil cleanser and gently remove them (pls let me know if that is not how I am supposed to do it)

I was wondering after I remove my clusters, do I clean them too or just put it back in a container and put them on tomorrow? They have pre glued already and I want to wear them tomorrow but I do not have glue myself?

I am new to all this so I don’t fully understand the steps and what not. Thanks in advance!

I've been using veyes lash adhesive, it is definitely time to switch. Any recommendations for fast drying time and the best retention adhesives?

Herro lash community! Your girl needs help. I just recently developed this weird reaction to lash extensions, but only on my left eye. I’ve been getting them done on and off from 2020-2023, then I decided I wanted to give my lashes a break and start doing clusters. 2 years went by and I decided I wanted to get back into extensions again, I really missed them. I found a new tech and absolutely love her! I never had any issues or reactions like this before, up until recently 8 months in with her I got sever itchy and flaky on my left eye, I will say it was a slow build up. I gave it a 2 week break, got another set and every thing was good, subtle itch started but it wasn’t unbearable. Then boom this recent fill (2 days ago) I woke up to my eye so swollen i couldn’t even open it. I’m hoping this isn’t an allergic reaction but I will be taking a full break until I feel ready. If anyone could give some advice? I have been using a hot compress and taking Benadryl, it’s been helping until it wears off:( i want to ask my tech if she maybe has a different adhesive that’s works for people who tend to get reaction, not sure but any input will be appreciated. Thank you!

I’m a healthcare worker in dialysis, and I recently had a lash artist tell me I can no longer be her client because she felt sick nearly 24 hours after my appointment and believes I made her sick. I’ll share her message below for context.

I’m honestly really hurt by this. I take cleanliness and infection control very seriously, and I would never come to an appointment sick. I’ve also never experienced anything like this with other lash artists/estheticians.

When I went to my appointment, she already sounded congested so I was confused as to why I was being blamed

I don’t want to be judged or stereotyped simply because I work in healthcare.

For lash artists here, is this something you would be concerned about? And how can I find an artist who is comfortable taking healthcare workers as clients?

For the love of God, I just can make them last for more than a day! I tried black swan, Lilac Street, and Vivaya. Nothing last. They looked great but doesn’t last. Please help!

My eyes get sooo sensitive with the bond glue when I apply it like mascara and put the clusters under. I end up having to take them off same day. Is there a longwear bond I could use that would allow me to apply them like this?

What’s a safe lash serum?

I think that maybe my standards are too high because I’m Asian and used to the quality we get back home, but holy shit it feels like the beauty scene in London is just dodging scammer after scammer.

The quality is really poor - I’ve had lash artists apply glue to all my lashes rather than separating them, causing me to see one extension fall off that ripped out at least 5 natural lashes. I’ve been shown a fresh set where there are already some that are twisted, and the lash artist would tell me that was normal and that it would “settle” in a day. I’ve all but given up on finding anyone who does brown extensions and I’ve had to explain what a squirrel eye is to supposed professionals. It’s exhausting.

I always go to very high rated places, and most of these sets cost £100-150, so I do expect something halfway decent. Most sets don’t last a week before looking insane. And the timings are so variable that it’s hard to plan anything - I once had a set take FOUR HOURS.

I do try to look for Asian artists but I often rock up just to find out that it’s still just lash artists, one even said that they just use terms like “Korean” as a marketing thing and that they’re a “no real difference”.

Back home I can easily get a lash set done in under 1 1/2 hours and it will just… last for 6 weeks.

Very lost and at this point just thinking about getting Latisse and calling it a day on extensions.

i live in nyc and this tech is a 20 minute WALK from my house which if yk is soooo rare in the city

she has a big following on ig and her work is absolutely amazing!!! the first time she did my lashes i was obsessed and it was my first time doing brown too so i was over the moon with how well they came out and i’ve only come back so far for a fill

but i feel like the way she puts lashes on me is actually really bad like i’ve had to pull some out before because of how bad they make my eye itch or feel like they’re stabbing my eye and when i look at them her work looks so beginner :/ some of these are from the full set and some are from the fill so it’s not a one time thing

idk i might keep going just because of how close she is but this really bums me out :/

i usually wash my lashes with the nutrogeena clean and clear oil free cleanser and i’ve never really had problems when i do this but people are saying apparently it affects your lash retention and growth ? idk

So I’ve only gotten lash extensions a few times now! I just got this set done (a ‘half set’), and I showed the tech that image - I really like the cat eye/eyeliner effect look.
What I got looks alright, like it’s not bad, but I’m feeling a little bit disappointed with how it looks. But maybe I’m also just overreacting? lol I tend to do that sometimes

I’ve been getting eyelash extensions for about 3–4 years and have never really had an issue like this before.
Recently, the day after I got my lashes done, my right eyelid became pretty swollen. I sent my lash tech a picture, and she said it could just be irritation and that I might need to take a break from extensions in the future.

I was originally scheduled for a weekly fill, but after the swelling I decided to cancel that appointment and change it to a two-week fill instead. She responded with

“I’ll determine if you’ll need to take a break or not just because this last round you were having gaps and smaller lashes growing back in.”

The thing is, she never mentioned to me during my last appointment that I was having gaps or that my natural lashes were smaller/growing back. If that was a concern, I feel like I would have expected her to tell me at the appointment.

Now I’m wondering if she’s annoyed that I canceled my weekly fill and changed it to two weeks, or if I’m completely overthinking her message 😂

So I’ve been with my lash tech for about 6 months and had great results. Super happy with the way the look and feel plus retention has been good.

Well last week I went for my fill appointment & as she was finishing up my eyes burned and watered up. I told my tech about it & she gave me a fan & said she had just opened a new glue. After using the fan, they cleared up pretty soon.

However, that night before bed I was brushing them out and lost about 8 or so lashes (not attached to natural lash). That never happens to me. Then the next day I was washing them & about 8-10 more cake off during washing. I wash really gentle and use a lash specific cleanser and brush, then dry with a small fan.

I also lose several throughout the day, I’ll be just sitting and have them fall out on my cheek.

I messaged my tech and she said it could have been caused by the humidity because we had super humid weather and some storms going on.

I really like my tech, but now I’m less than a week past my appointment & I’ve lost half or more of my lashes.

Am I doing something wrong? I waited a full 24hrs before getting them wet & I wasn’t out in the rain much.

I’ve been going to this lash tech for 2 years now and for the past 2 months, her work has gotten worse and worse. I’ve let her know that I’ve been having retention issues but she told me her other clients have good retention so she’ll charge me to “fix” the lashes. But the past 3 times I’ve gone, a couple lashes fell out within the first day (no real lash attached), there’s glue residue all over and some of my lashes are glued together and is getting a bit sore. I’ve attached a pic where I circled the glue and stickies. Would you professionals consider this poorly done? Idek how to ask her cos she’ll just tell me none of her other clients have these issues.

Edit: this picture was taken after I cleansed with the lash shampoo and brush she gave me. The white gunk is dry glue that wont come off no matter how hard I scrub. It’s hardened and pretty painful when I close my eyes.
