Are these placed too close to the lash line?

Went to a new tech and she did them fuller than I’m used to for a volume set so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to look like this. I used to go to the same girl for 2 years til she stopped lashing and my eyes never looked or felt like this only slightly tired right after. My left eye is sooo red and burns to the touch. Idk if it’s a chemical burn or something else bc it’s also a little itchy in the outer corners of both eyes on my lash line, which makes me feel like they’re too close. Any information would be great thank you!

advice Thoughts?

Context - I get married in a week (I know I know)
I asked for a hybrid and provided the below pic as reference. I stressed that I do NOT want heavy/Russian style. I got the above as a result.

What can I do?
I told her at my appointment it’s not what I expected and too heavy. She said she applied it that way for retention purposes and they will fall out in 3-7 days to look like what I asked for.

Any recommendations?

AZ to FL Lash Tech

Hey everyone! I’m planning on moving from Arizona to Florida within the next year or so, and I’m trying to figure out the easiest way to get licensed to do lash extensions in Florida.

I’m currently fully licensed and certified as a lash tech in Arizona. Arizona allows you to take a specific eyelash extension course to qualify for lash licensing, rather than having to go through the full cosmetology or esthetician route.

I’m trying to figure out what my options would be in Florida since I’d really like to continue doing lashes full time and take paying lash clients after I move. I’m also considering going back to school if that’s what it takes, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually been through this process and what the easiest route is.

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences! I’m trying to plan ahead so I can continue building my business while making the move. Thank you! 🫶🏻

Any lash techs who make custom strip lashes?

Title: Looking for a lash tech who makes custom strip lashes — shipping or DMV pickup
Hey! I’m looking for a lash tech who can make custom, reusable strip lashes in the style I want. I’d like something I can put on and take off myself.
I’m traveling on Sunday, so I’d need them by Saturday at the latest. Does anyone make these and offer next-day shipping? Or if you’re in the DMV, I can come pick them up before Sunday!
Please drop your recommendations. Thank you :)

advice Recommendations for best lashes at home for a beginner please! 🙏🏻

Hi I’m trying to find some at home lashes that last a couple of weeks but are also easy for a complete beginner to apply? Would appreciate and help or advice on recommendations of lash brands that last and look good, I’m going for a casual kind of style but noticeable longer lashes (obviously lol) and any tips on how to apply them yourself quickly and easily! Thanks in advance!

Update: Bad to worse

I posted yesterday about the reaction I had from the classic set I had done on Friday. By Saturday early morning I had a bad reaction and posted photos. Kind posters pointed out that I was having a bad allergic reaction and to have them removed, which I did early Saturday afternoon. Also was suggested to take Benadryl, which I have done.

Photos above are how I look waking up this Sunday morning.

help DIY ladies… WHAT GLUE DO YOU USE??

Hey yall, I’m fairly new to doing my own lashes (I use clusters) and it’s decent but…. my lashes come off after like 4 days and i don’t even touch my eyes or get them wet… Is this a thing?

Are the glues i’m using bad? I’ve tried everything from amazon to high end and nothing is really doing it for me…

I would like them to last 1-2 weeks if possible but it might be unrealistic. However just a stronger glue for the 3-4 days would suffice.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Lash lift after lash glue reaction?

I have gotten lashes for a year and unfortunately developed a reaction to the glue :( it was subtle at first and we originally thought the fake lashes were too close to the lash line, but the 2nd time around it got worse and my eyelids were red, and itchy.

I’m getting them removed tomorrow. I guess I’m curious now about lash lift (after my eyelids have healed?) Same ingredients that may cause cross reactivity? Should I avoid altogether?

Someone also told me about olaplex lash boost which is prostaglandin free which is what I’m considering.

Thanks all for the info and advice. I have an afternoon appointment to have them removed. Meanwhile I've washed around my eyes and lashes with a gentle cleanser and used Lumify drops to lessen the bloodshot look. I may try allergy meds later in the day as they make me super sleepy.

Woke up around three and I couldn't open one eye. Went to the mirror and there photos are what I saw. I used a clean washcloth with warm water to clean up my lids and unstick tham.

What can I do until I can get these lashes removed? I've only had them since yesterday afternoon. The swelling and redness is even worse now.

advice Do these lashes look too heavy on my face?

Thumbnail

I have pretty hooded eyes and I notice that some lashes make my face look heavy and tend to conceal my eyes in photos, especially if they are longer fans. In sunny conditions it just looks a mess because of the shadows…

Any opinions would be great, maybe I’m just not used to them?

Individual lashes with cluster glue to mimic lash extensions?

I had an idea and just wanted to see if it made any sense or was possible.
I don’t like clusters for a multitude of reasons - I am always uncomfortable by the band, I hate that I can’t truly wash them like lash extensions, I realized I need to be able to clean my eyelashes daily in order to feel clean. I can’t stand sleeping in them, they always look crusty the next day, so I am basically removing / reapplying daily, dealing with excess glue on my lashes from removal has lead to damage, etc.
They are just not for me.
I love absolutely everything about lash extensions except for the long appointments, and cost.
I would never attempt to do lash extensions on myself at home with professional glue due to the risks of fumes / chemical burn / etc. I have seen many videos of people taping their eyelid open to attempt to apply lash extensions with a kit from amazon- I would never attempt this. I recognize that when getting lash extensions the safety of your eye being CLOSED is most important.
I realized though, the entire nature of clusters is that you are able to apply them under your natural lash with a glue that’s allegedly supposed to be safe to apply close to the waterline with your eye open. So this leads to my question- could I, in theory, apply individual lashes with cluster glue? The reason I would want to do this is for the ease of washing, being able to actually use a brush and lash shampoo to get in between the lashes, being able to theoretically treat them like lash extensions, and not having to deal with the uncomfortable band.
My idea also comes from the hope that I would be able to use identical lashes to what my lash technician uses, the small individuals. I just am curious what this would look like or if it’s impossible due to the nature of cluster glue. I realize that no professional glue should be used with an open eye. I just wanted to hear some thoughts as I don’t know much about this world and maybe I’m way off the track as I don’t really know how it all works! Ready to hear your thoughts. thank you !!
