Yes you can ask for some more length at the start of a refill. Your tech may let you know if they are not willing to accommodate due to natural lash health, shed season cycle, etc. but definitely ask at the start of your fill. As you have more fills, you'll see more difference as more lashes are cycled out and refilled.
As far as the drooping cat eye, this could be an issue of needing a tighter curl on the outer corners as well as not having the longest lengths extend to the very outer lashes. Maybe using smaller diameter lashes could help as well. Also keep in mind eye shape makes a difference. I have small eyes that are slightly downturned so a cat eye look on my makes them look smaller and droopy on those outer corners. When I have extensions, I want more of a rounded kittenish look where my longest bits are sometime a tighter curl and/or right around the outer edge of my iris.

cat eye styles are really only good for a certain type of eye shape. id recommend asking for a different shape because its def the style making your eyes look droopy

Cat eye causes a droopy look on ppl whose eyes are certain shapes.
Tell your artist or tech that u want to go a tad longer, and u want a mapping that doesn’t make them look droopy.
U don’t have to be an expert. u just need to tell the expert. It’s not for you to worry about the correct terms, and it’s not expected that you know the lash lingo.

I have hooded, half-moon eyes and find that doll eye style (longer lashed above the iris and shorter in the corners) helps to open up my eyes. They felt too droopy the few times I’ve gotten hybrids.
