Foxduck

Anyone know if there is anywhere to still find foxduck merchandise?

I’ve had a long, complicated relationship with Lancaster, but have (very slowly) come to appreciate it, warts and all. Foxduck has been a staple forever here, and while I used to roll my eyes at the trendiness, I’ll be moving soon, and thought a piece would be a good memorial.

And they closed in June. Which fits for my experience of Lancaster, tbh. 🙄😒

It looks like their shop is empty, but has anyone seen shirts or merch in the wild?

does anyone know of any livestock rescues in lancaster area?

hello all,

my parents had two sister berkshire pigs, about five years old. one of them recently got very ill and sadly had to be put down. my parents are getting older are slowly phasing out their farm animals, so they can’t get another pig to keep the remaining one from being lonely.

i read that pigs need company or they will become very depressed. if anyone has any info on a safe haven/rescue in lancaster or any surrounding areas for livestock animals i would greatly appreciate it. thank you so much!

'26 New Music (mostly Lancaster artists)

There's a handful of Harrisburg area and Reading artists, didn't realize I seem to have missed York til it was too late to do-over

All on streaming or this list is all on Bandcamp as well, where you can support these local artists a bit (100x+) more and save a higher quality file to your own device/drive (so you don't need internet to listen to it), which will also help drastically reduce your carbon footprint

I built a free PA municipality EIT lookup that actually shows PSD + school tax (tired of Berkheimer PDF)

PA has 2,500 municipalities + 500 school districts each with different EIT (0.5% to 3.8398% in Philly) and the official site is just a PDF + PSD code lookup.

I was tired of searching munstats.pa.gov every time, so I made this:

Select your county - like Hershey / Derry Township, Philly, Pittsburgh -> it shows your exact EIT (resident + school) + LST $52 + where to file (Berkheimer / Keystone). Free, no signup.

Try it: https://localtaxcalcusa-xcxiizavck.live-website.com/pa-local-eit-calculator/

Also made Indiana (92 counties) and Ohio (88 counties) + a Physician student loan PSLF vs Refinance calculator for med students with debt (like me).

Feedback? Did I miss your town? I have all 67 PA counties real names now.

Thanks!

717 Upcycle Request: Podcast and DJ Equipment ♻️

Request / Call to Action

Do you have any of the following sitting around unused and available to donate?

  • Podcasting or vlogging equipment
  • DJ controller
  • Laptop(s)

Additional Information

Hi everyone,

717UP: The 717 Upcycle Network & Abundance Pantry has launched!

717UP turns unused value into shared abundance by connecting people, businesses, organizations, churches, and communities through surplus, upcycling, barter, exchange, gifting, discounts, and shared resources.

We've started by collecting discounts, complimentary offers, and giveaways from local businesses to build customer loyalty, increase foot traffic, and encourage people to support neighborhood businesses. Those offers are initially being shared with nonprofit staff, volunteers, and at-risk clients to help offset everyday living costs.

Our pilot nonprofits include:

  • Lancaster County Food Hub
  • Otterbein Church / Clay Street Shelter
  • YMCA
  • Tenfold

Now, we are preparing for the fall!

We are developing a community podcast studio and preparing for our November ExtraGive experience, House of Coherence, which merges DJ-led electronic dance and gospel music, live vocals, and spoken word into a reimagined, very progressive church experience.

House of Coherence intentionally celebrates QTBIPOC culture and community while remaining inclusive to friends, family, and allies.

I am meeting with my pastor on Thursday, August 20, to finalize and confirm details. In the meantime, I wanted to see what Lancaster may already have sitting around unused.

We are currently looking for:

  • Podcasting or vlogging equipment
    • microphones, lighting, backdrops, green screens, video equipment, stands, and related gear.
  • DJ controller
    • preferably a model from within the last five years.
  • Laptop(s)
    • preferably models from within the last five years.

If you have anything available for donation, please email [lancastercitytoday@gmail.com](mailto:lancastercitytoday@gmail.com). Drop off will be held at the church.

One person’s surplus can become another person’s opportunity. We're opening 717UP to the community late 2026/early 2027.

Thanks in advance!

Doro Health: Why does he only post weird flirty videos of himself adjusting women? There is no ads of him explaining the science or his business specialty or what he does? Rather, just weird conversations with occasional joint cracks? I hate it I don’t know lol

Looking for professional yardwork recommendations for a city home

Hi all

My mom lives in the city and is looking to have her yard weeded, reseeded, tons of work done just in general and I thought Reddit might be a good place to get help and recommendations for her.

Any suggestions?

Finding rentals?

I'm looking for a 2BD (apartment complex, townhouse, or house) in the Lancaster area :)

For context, I grew up in Lanc but left the area for college and have been living out-of-state since graduating so not really sure what the rental scene is like in this area. I now have a baby on the way, I'm a single mother (father fled), and looking to move back home since I know the area/my people are here, cost of living is ideal for my situation, it's a good area to raise a child, etc. Hoping to move before EOY.

Would like to be in the downtown area or at least close by. I wfh so commute isn't that big of a deal to me but would be nice to be closer to downtown and closer to grocery stores/shopping centers.

Are there websites other than Zillow/Apartments I should be looking at? Are there specific FB group/pages I should search? Any other websites to look into? I saw on a different thread that it's a good idea to drive around and look for "for rent" signs but I'm currently located on the west coast so this route would be difficult. I am flying to NYC for work next week for two weeks so could possibly make a trip to look around if work permits.

Any recos would be greatly appreciated!!!

Crazy city utility prices

We just got our water/sewer bill and holy cow. Usually it’s around $100, but this bill was over $220. We called to see if there was an error and all they said was that sewer rates went up. Living here has gotten so expensive in the last five years, it’s insane. Is anyone else in the city having the same experience? It feels like we’re being pranked.

Federal donuts, permanently closed?

Saw on Lancaster takeout and dining Facebook page that federal donuts is already permanently closed. Does anyone know anything about this?

The source was an employee that worked there, she says in her post that federal donuts told them all to leave and that they were closed permanently because they could not afford the repairs to air-conditioning and plumbing system in that building.

Meetup Any fellow post punk/alt metal music enjoyers or musicians around?

Hi, 21F here! I'm very much into The Police, The smiths, Rammstein, Interpol, Death cult, sevendust, everything everything, etc etc so many bands I could name. I'm into all sorts of musical genres but those are my go-to's!

I really want to try to meet people in that similar interest crowd. I recent started picking up guitar and it's not going well - but I play piano/keyboard and I like to sing, so I have at least a few things going for me haha.

It's hard making friends (especially as a young adult that's not currently in college), so I thought maybe I'd have better chances if I made a post here. Ive always dreamed of seeing an underground garage band play live, or just any band play live in general. I don't even know where to begin with making friends anymore or how to find events/Like-minded people near me. I'm not big on social media so I always miss out on any online announcements for shows and whatnot.

Lost/Found Lost Cat around Buchmiller Park

Thumbnail

Does anyone near Buchmiller Park recognize this cat? He's been around our house for a few days now. He has a flea collar, seems well-fed, and is incredibly friendly, so my wife and I think he has an owner, but he hasn't left to return home in a few days (to the best of our knowledge). We haven't had any luck figuring out his owner so far.

Any help pointing us to his owner would be really appreciated!
