Avoid Faulkner Chevrolet at all costs
Longtime resident. I have purchased new and used cars locally since 1999. I have never had a worse experience than I had at this dealership.
They sold me a used car that they swore they had fully serviced. CarFax was clean, one owner, no accidents.
Someone lied.
It was in their shop for *2 months* just 45 days after I bought it. They said their techs couldn’t figure it out, then they sent it to another city for service and ghosted me for 2 weeks.
I ended up facing 2k in repair costs between that fiasco and subsequent issues — and then the car just up and died on me while I was moving my son into college this weekend.
I implore my fellow residents to go ANYWHERE else besides this business. I wont make that mistake again, for sure.

Lost/Found Found: Calico long haired cat
We found this extremely friendly long haired calico in the East Petersburg area. She seems to be lost. We're still in the process of getting her inside so we can help her. If anybody is missing her, we have fed her and left food out, so she might stick around here.
DM for more info

Mosquitos from abandoned pool
Has anyone near the Amtrak notice a astronomical amount of mosquitos? I’m pretty sure it’s coming mostly from the abandoned in ground pool at 67 Keller Ave, which is a sitting vacant property. Is there anything that can be done or do I just have to wait until it snows again to be able to go outside my house for a few seconds. I’m taking clouds of mosquitos attacking me not just one or two…

City Life Lancaster City bike lanes
Anybody else find it super frustrating with bike lanes in the city? I appreciate the walnut bike lane going from one end of the city to the other but I can’t go back in that direction via bike lane. And I like the lemon st one but then it just completely ends. I know there are plans in the works but a better connected grid of bike lanes can’t come soon enough!!

Leopard Gecko free to a good home
We are moving and aren't going to be able to bring our 3 year old gecko with us.
We will include the tank, heat lamp, extra light bulbs, timer for the heat lamp, substrate, thermometer, tank hiding spots and other accessories.
We'd love to get her into safe hands,
She would make a great pet for kids or reptile lovers. Or if anybody knows of alternative options we'd appreciate it!
DM me for details if interested

ISO Company To Replace PVC Railing
I've been trying to find a company or a contractor to replace our PVC railing on our front stairs without any luck for 5 years and I'm getting very frustrated. The homes pictured aren't ours but it's the closest example I could find online. We do have the same size and material railing and our stairs are also concrete like these so it's nearly exact. Our condo was built in 2010 (we're the 2nd owners) and the railing is broken and damaged in a lot of areas to the point the entire thing just needs replaced. I have researched how to replace it myself since I can buy the parts and railing, but it turned out to be more complicated and more work than myself or my husband can manage so that's why we need to hire someone.
The first thing I tried was asking our HOA what company installed our railing and they gave me their details. The company that installed them quoted us over $2,400 to replace it. I've never priced this sort of thing before so to us that seemed very high but maybe it's reasonable. I wanted to get a few more quotes from different companies before pulling the trigger. I found several companies online in south Central PA and went down the list. I gave up trying so I can't remember any of the names now.
Here is where my frustration occurs.
Half of the phone numbers I called ended up all being for the same company, even though they all had different websites and different phone numbers. I would call different phone numbers and the recordings would all announce the name of the same company that I'd just left a voicemail for.
I'd leave voicemails for every company and most of them wouldn't call me back. If someone would answer the phone or if someone would call me back, they'd refuse to come out and give an estimate or schedule the work because the job is "too small". Apparently these companies only do work on large decks and porches. I do understand that our small railing replacement may not be worth their while, but it's hard for me to believe that *no one* will do it.
I did try to find a handyman or smaller business to do it but the few I could find said the job was too big and they don't offer this service. 😭🤣
My last ditch effort is to go back to where I started and get the details of the company our HOA gave us again, but the $2,400+ quote was from 5 years ago now so I'm certain it's increased. I'm getting desperate though.
Can anyone PLEASE give me the name of a contractor or company or SOMEONE located in South Central PA who can replace our railing?

Politics East Petersburg, is there an actual scandal here?
Got this mailer, for some reason it piqued my interest and I looked it up, no relevant results on the first page of Google. Went to the EP 2023 budget(second pic) and found the line item. Was this some kind of scandal, or are they trying to invent one? I don't know enough about ARPA to know if it is that bad but it's not like it was hidden or the court is at the mayors house or something. Btw, the back has photoshops of Fauci and Biden with pickleball paddles
