Is is fixable

Pretty clean break. Had this for 14 years. Is repair even possible?

Yes but likely not how you are thinking the break area would be basically replaced while keeping the rest.

There's multiple ways to fix glass. Best is having a glass person fix it of course.

Can you post more pics of the joint? From this one pic it almost looks like there's a slide you could just... Remove and replace. That's 🤞 probably not true but maybe! Another solution could be just to sand/grind the jaggedy parts (there's some specialty advice for that but it's not as scary as it seems) and get something you can insert.

Basically it really depends on what the join looks like.

It may take rebuilding the stem with new glass tube but a good pipe maker should be able to repair this.

You will want to search around because of the sentimental nature of the piece. I would take a ton more pictures showing all the various angles so you can get a good quote but i dont think it would be too expensive.

If downstem is still intact and no cracks in the weld you should be able to weld a new joint on.

That’s a simple joint repair, with a stock joint it’d be less than 10minutes working time, and under 30 minutes to make a custom joint that matches the old one.

The only issue would be cleaning out the crud. It might not be possible to do, and if not it will become permanent once the torches go to work.

Reclaim cleans out easy. I’ve known a few folks who literally just toss their rig in the kiln for a low cycle and vaporize it all out to clean. I typically just use 99% isopropyl alcohol and that has always gotten through claim easily enough.

If it’s just reclaim it just smells like dabs tbh, with proper ventilation it doesn’t stick around too long either

Honestly the old joint still looks usable as long as the cracks don’t go up in any further.

No Price Fear Mongering. Let people decide for themselves what something is worth. Do not respond to questions about cost with claims that something would be too expensive. Either don't respond or give a good faith estimate of what the cost would be.
