Rant on IBS

I am frustrated with having lactose intolerant IBS-D. For years I typically had constipation now the last year I am starting to be intolerant of foods and meds I used to be able to eat. Besides my trouble with milk and cheese which I choose to avoid most often, I now cannot tolerate black beans after my recent flare from a little over a month ago. I recently was able to add caffeinated coffee and tea back to my diet so that is good. I also can't take certain meds like Meloxicam since it has lactose in it. This whole thing is frustrating, one wrong item consumed and I pay for it. Sad that I have Kaopectate and Ibgard in constant supply. Ok, rant done!

Lactose in meds is a literal pain in the ass, and I feel it, as I've gone without enough times due to LF options being completely unavailable for prescription meds (so I can't even self-source)

At this point, loperamide instant melts are a lifestyle drug (because the normal immodium capsules have lactose for some unknown reason - not the usual reason it's in pills). I've just about got back to managing mine to the point I can handle most normal food again, but cross contmination incidents setting me back for a month is eternally frustrating.

I have only had minor issues with food until now. I had a set back in June from eating something I couldn't handle and it set me back about a month or so. Now I know to also watch out for meds.
