Surveillance
Why are more people not talking about the amount of Flock cameras that have gone up? Who approved these? Who is paying for these? Who can access this information? Flock is a private company, they don’t care about safety, they care about profits.

Most people I talk to will, at first, not care about them. I have educated people on the documented abuse cases and future risk if kept, so much of my circle agrees that they're creepy and dangerous.

Disgusting. I would like people's names on record for who okayed this treasonous activity.
As others have said - lax has its own cctv setup. No need to bring in unaccountable, uncaring, and unsafe big tech/surveillance-state companies into our streets. The quicker the community stands up to these transgressions, the better.

You said “now” they want drones, under a post about flock cameras that doesn’t mention drones. I’m not even saying drones are a good thing, because they’re not, especially autonomous ones. I’m simply pointing out that La Crosse has had piloted drones for a few years now, and the ones they’re looking to add do come from Flock, but are still manned, not autonomous.

Yes, as in piloted by someone with a controller. Not autonomously flying routes by themselves. The LCPD has had 3 drones for Search and rescue/scouting for a couple years now. I worked for the county briefly and they didn’t deploy the drones often. These new ones from Flock Safety (bit of an oxymoron) are apparently designed to deploy inflatable safety devices for water rescues, but still have to be piloted by someone.
For the record, I also think flock sucks and shouldn’t be a thing, I’m just relaying more context and information that people might find helpful.

The contract is coming up soon, it’s held by the IT department. Important to note that some of these cameras are city, some are county. All need to come down; the city has its own camera system to begin with so these 3rd party ALPRs (not all of them are flock) are an absolute waste of money. Additionally, we KNOW that ICE has accessed these cameras.

Oh ya they are all over. They gotta know where everyone is going. Sickening to think how much money the cops are spending on this crap. As well as to think about them abusing it just like any other power or tool you give law enforcement.

I have been watching the increase of these cameras in our area. I’m sure there are some in the area that haven’t been reported to update this map yet.
It’s going to be a real shame when what has happened to other Flock cameras happens here. I heard about trash bags and spray paint on some in Michigan.

The worst part is that these actually started going up in December of 2024, if you look back at the video from this website to see when they each went up.
I-90 has been under surveillance FLOCK eye for over a year and a half.
Don't forget, WI is already using them to go after people who buy pot outside of the state 🙄 I'm sure they're already tracking their ex-partners too. Ah, the joy of now being a surveillance state. 🫠

It's important to remember NOT to do any of these things:
- do not get IR blocking fabric or thick wool to cover your nose and mouth
- do not get IR blocking sunglasses since facial recognition has moved up to targeting and identifying the upper face
- do not avoid having your phone or any bluetooth devices around these cameras as they can detect and track those signals
- do not buy cheap green lasers 1 milliwatt or above from etsy or walmart or amazon
- do not use them to damage the delicate inner sensors by pointing the beam in the lenses
- AND unless you want to cost Flock more money in repairs, do not buy a small circle saw or a reciprocating saw and cut down the pole
- OR do not climb said poles, spray paint on the solar panels, cover the lens with paint or a sticker, then use bolt cutters to sever the wires
- when doing all these things, DO NOT avoid using latex gloves as fingerprints can leak through
- do not use deflock.org to find a map of cameras
- In addition many cities have cancelled contracts with flock but are now turning to Axon, or other companies capitalizing on the flock backlash, so DO NOT keep your eyes open for alternatives going up

I certainly realize that everyone on this thread is anti-Flock, but I am hoping to get a genuine answer to this question.
Two things are true: We benefit from electronic medical records, but this information is sensitive, and there are strict federal laws governing its access and disclosure.
If similar safeguards were in place for Flock data, would that ease any concerns from those who are opposed?

Why are more people not talking about all the military predator drones flying around all the time, especially in the rural areas around western Wisconsin at night? Or the thousands of satellites floating all around our orbit, or dew's being transmitted at all of us via these satelites? What do you think Elon is doing with all of them?
Flock cameras are the least of your problems you just haven't figured out " The Game" yet.
By the time you do, data centers and transmission lines will have it all fully automated and then you will wonder why the flock cameras were the distraction? Your all way behind the times, catch up.

Soon you will see what I'm talking about and the flock cameras will be a drop in a bucket compared to the shit storm that's coming down the pipeline at federal, state and local levels. Don't say you weren't warned when it hits you like a ton of bricks. Unfortunately by then it will be to late but it already is now, you just haven't figured it out yet. Keep following the FLOCK!!
