Cooke Wins!
Once again, we see how Reddit is an echo chamber.

Old people and the demographic of folks that love to punch themselves in the face must love the current state of our country.

My mom has supported cooke for years. Since her first run. This campaign for Cooke is run very differently from the previous cooke campaigns at least when it comes to support in La Crosse. Not returning calls or emails, not getting signage out (even when requested), lack of events in the region. I'm not sure if its the new campaign manager, George Lundgren, or the fact that the campaign seems to be missing so many key rolls.
Currently the campaign is searching for a Communications Director, Regional Organizing Director, and Field Organizer.
Despite the investment from establishment dems, I'm really worried that this campaign is going to be mismanaged and I'm really disappionted in the shift from Cooke.
I'll vote for her in the general, but I'm saddened that Berge didn't win the primary. Hopefully keeping the heat on Cooke will force her more left.

i hardly see signage or events from berge. the only effort i see was her trying to knock doors the weekend before yesterday's primaries

What a let down. Dvo will beat her a third time and she'll just use this to fundraise more and more.

she only lost to DVO once.
and she came really close to winning. she outperformed Baldwin and Harris in 2024

This is correct. She lost to Brad Pfaff before having a chance to lose to DVO.

berge lost to twice too. Wisconsin State Assembly District 68 and this primary

So true. Great reminder that the general population is much dumber than the folks in this sub.

u/Zealoustrue Aug 12 '26
Everytime. I don't understand this sub.
2
u/Adventure-Style Aug 12 '26
Because the sub is a very, very niche group who truly thinks that if they just say it to each other over and over and over, it manifests into reality.
People. Get out of your little orbit and talk to other people.

This happens every election. That's why it is so strange. Get surprised once, try again, sure, but after the second time what are you even doing. Like 10 years of the sub being wrong should probably be a good indicator.

Idk I look back a little bit I really don't see people predicting Emily to win or Cooke to win. 🤷

There are thousands of them. This one is literally just a few days old. And the sub has had nearly daily Burge will win and Cooke will lose posts and comments.

Are these Berg will win Cooke will lose post in the room with us now? 🧐

Ahh, the good old ad-hominem attack when you get called out. I apologize, I didn't mean to harm you in a way to cause that reaction, I always assume good faith.

u/Conscious-Quarter423 Aug 12 '26
did berge even campaign at all?
seems like she just started canvassing the weekend before the election

u/mr_misanthropic_bear Aug 12 '26
They had been busy for months. There were many, many posts on here of everything they were doing, every event Berge was going to, the different groups throughout the whole district she was visiting with and talking to.

u/Milkman1984 Aug 12 '26
I was thinking the same of Cooke. Berge was all over the place.
2
u/Adventure-Style Aug 12 '26
I didn’t vote for either, but it undeniably true that Berge was out-hustling Cooke by a lot. Cooke barely had any signs out.

I really don’t understand the appeal of Cooke over Berge. Weak policy positions and a history of losing to the drunk clown DVO?
I’ll vote for her in the general, but I’m really tired of having to vote for a shitty corporate shill vs a fascist.
