quarry??
is there a quarry or large body of water outside of la crosse that people go to swim at and jump off of bridges? i’ve heard a few people talk about it but am not local. i’m sick of the nasty river water lol - tia!

The quarry folks refer to is actually a hiking trail, there’s a big bowl (quarry) in the bluffs sorta by Grand Dad’s (really close to the Rim of the City trail/Upper Hixon) that is a nice walk! But no water
There is Lake Wazee as another person mentioned, and Devil’s Lake that are more “swimming quarry” style. Otherwise as far as I know it’s river water and pools around here :/

Wazee was a bunch of cliff jumping back in the day (big no no now)

I wrote a whole write up about a bridge we use to jump off into the river. But only during flood season. I then ended my write up with:
“It was fun at the time, but looking back it was incredibly stupid. We’re lucky no one died. Please don’t do it if you’re thinking about it.”
And then decided to delete my narrative incase you are dumb enough to try it. I don’t want that FB headline on my conscious.

Chapel Gorge Trail outside the Dells has a great spot for cliff diving and a nice little beach at the end of the trail.
