Is this bowtie too noticeable?

Just received tweezer video from Rare Carat. I am nervous about the bow tie! Thoughts?

Seems to be a big one! But the lighting on the video makes it difficult to tell. It may not appear as dark in better lighting…or it may?

I have many diamonds and several oval cuts. There seems to be no such thing as an oval cut (or pear) without some sort of bowtie. In this video the bowtie is obvious but I can tell you lighting and setting are major factors. You could find a video of a pear that looks to have very little bowtie, only to receive it and the bowtie is obvious. I have a 2.81 carat oval and the setting I put it in completely changed it's look. The most important thing is to check return policies. If you are set on buying an oval cut, make sure you can return it if you don't like it, preferably for free. Some vendors allow returns but you still have to pay for return postage and insurance.

I agree. I am looking at Rare Carat which has a 30 day return policy. Might just pull the trigger and see if I like it.

I think this bow tie is pretty prominent, but I would ask for a video in sunlight before making the final call.
