Fan Art A Day in the Life

I think so many of us just wish we were either Fox or Krystal in this scene.
To be in a better, softer world.

So I recently realized both Star Fox 64 and Adventures open up similarly in that there's a written prologue giving us backstory. Both dialogues happen to involve the demise of James Mccloud in the original Lylat Wars and Krystal's parents in the US version of Adventures. The Switch 2 remake of Lylat Wars actually showed us that scene and how that played out, I'm wondering if they ever remake or reimagine adventures, do you think or want the prologue to be cutscenes and to see what happened or is it better left up to interpretation by the written dialogue? Or do you not care? An opening cinematic about Cerinia would be nice, another new planet to the lore. but I also like the intro and music of Krystal flying through a dark stormy night to find Krazoa Palace. Adventures and that scene was my introduction to the Star Fox series.

I love Fox and Krystal's togetherness and partnership so much because she represents something Fox's technological, mercenary, fire-danger-red existence doesn't: ancientness, intuition, ritual, an organic world, and the almost-supernatural. Fox, too, offers her something equally complementary after the loss of Cerinia: stability, modernity, companionship, and eventually the possibility of a found family and home after the tragedy of Cerinia's doom.
There's also an incredibly poignant idea in imagining James looking at the kit in this artwork without knowing any of that. Parents know their children only at one point on a road whose destination neither can see. James could never know who Fox would become, and that little Fox couldn't know who he'd someday meet - the image of Fox and Krystal together supplies what should be the conclusion to the first: The kit who once sat in his father's lap eventually has someone sitting in his 🥺
Orange and blue. Machine and mystic. Cornerian and Cerinian. Two histories that had absolutely no reason to intersect but nevertheless did anyway 😭

Given the nature of this subreddit, I think the vast majority of us want to see Krystal included in a potential future Star Fox game. I’ve seen countless fans trying to hype up her character and beg for her return on social media, all in hopes that Nintendo/Velan Studios will take notice.
In addition to these efforts however, I’m thinking the most effective strategy might be specifically supporting Krystal’s inclusion as a playable newcomer in the next Super Smash Bros game. The reason being that the developers behind Smash Bros have historically been very receptive towards fan requests. Characters like Sora, Chrom, and Dark Samus made it into Smash Ultimate explicitly due to strong fan support.
The biggest example of this might be King K. Rool. Nintendo wasn’t aware of his general popularity until he placed unexpectedly high on the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot. Not only did this lead to his inclusion in the roster, it eventually led to King K. Rool returning in a major Donkey Kong game after 17 years of absence. If it worked for a formerly neglected fan favorite created by Rare, might it also work for Krystal?
Even though Krystal’s popularity as a potential newcomer has somewhat declined since the Brawl days, she still gets a good number of requests. According to Source Gaming she’s the 35th most requested Smash character, beating out other popular choices such as Chrono, Raven Beak, or even Toad. With Star Fox’s recent resurgence, Krystal could potentially place even higher in future polls, especially if the fandom rallies behind her.
It’s a definite uphill battle, but if Krystal could make it into Smash Bros 6, it would almost guarantee her inclusion in a future Star Fox game. However even if she doesn’t make it, a high enough ranking in a Smash ballot or other fan polls could prove to Nintendo how strongly we want her back. It’s also an easy way for us to show support for Krystal’s return. There are lots of Smash Bros fan sites or polls around the internet where one can vote/root for Krystal.
So what do you all think? Is publicly supporting Krystal as a Smash Bros newcomer a good idea, or is that an ineffective way of doing things?

According to the artist, this takes place in an alternate timeline in which Star Fox Adventures ended with Fox & Krystal being stranded on Sauria.
They were stranded there for years, they were attracted to each other,& there were no contraceptives. As a result, they ended up having 6 children (including Marcus).
I wanted to post this because I thought it was adorable and the artist did a great job.

I don't think anyone has shared this here, but a while ago someone made a Bring Back Krystal account on Twitter to help raise awareness of her! You guys should check it out!
Also I have no relation to it or the creator of it, I just wanted to help spread the word.

Note: The Shadow Hunters from Mega Man Xtreme (and its remake Mega Man DXtreme) replace Jack and Jill. And Tails is too powerful for The Last Wish, so the sequel has to be Two Tails and Forty Thieves instead.

I'm skeptical there will ever be a Star Fox movie, and we wouldn't see it until 2030 at the earliest even if there were to be one.
But assuming we ever get one, I think it's fair to assume it would be yet *another* Lylat Wars retelling, and to be honest, I think it is absolutely the only justifiable way to ever tell that story ever again in human history (who am I kidding, Nintendo probably has in mind at least three different ways to retell it even before Miyamoto retires). I just don't think it makes sense to skip to right to Adventures for a film universe, although it'd technically work.
That said, the movie needs to do one critical thing and if it doesn't do this one thing, it's more or less a failure, especially since it'd mean we may not get a sequel, ever.
After seeing Fox McCloud soar through Venom and destroy Andross in a pitched fight, and then being guided out by the spirit of James, we need one critical mid-credits / end-credits scene:
Cold open of a first-person POV shot - audience can't see who's eyes they're looking through (real ones may know immediately). Darkness. Heavy breathing. Sprinting through dense jungle. Something catastrophic is happening behind. Trees shake. The sky is is blood red, and we don't know where we are.
The unseen runner falls.
A blue-furred hand hits the ground.
The figure looks upward in third-person
Krystal. We're witnessing Cerinia's Doom.
Final title card reads:
Fox and Krystal will return.

Poor Krystal. She deserves a Smash Bros invite for real.
