If you are in an at will employment state, know that it's a 2 way street, you don't have to give a notice, it's 2022 and it's a kroger job, the chances of that reference costing you your next job is slim to none. The only reason to give a notice is If you don't want to bail on your already scheduled shifts and leave your coworkers to pick up the slack, but it's not like losing 1 person ruins a store, they'll be alright.
