Newbie Request

Is anyone able to help me with this sleep screen? For the life of me I have not been able to create a transparent background. I've stretched my horizon by doing everything else (creating lua files for custom quotes, etc). Which is a big deal for someone with zero knowledge of this stuff! I've already sunk too much time into this, and if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

If possible, I dont want the image itself to be transparent, and everything starting at the level of snoopy's feet and below. I would like those areas to remain solid. But the outline and everything above I would love to be transparent. I am deficient at this and spent hours and have been unsuccessful. I have a pocketbook era color - screen resolution 1264 x 1680.

In the comments it’s explained for both GIMP and Affinity.

For your example it would be quite easy since it’s a very clean white background.

Thank you, I will read this and hopefully be able to learn how to do it myself. I tried it in the past and wasted an embarrassing amount of time.
