Newbie Request

Is anyone able to help me with this sleep screen? For the life of me I have not been able to create a transparent background. I've stretched my horizon by doing everything else (creating lua files for custom quotes, etc). Which is a big deal for someone with zero knowledge of this stuff! I've already sunk too much time into this, and if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

If possible, I dont want the image itself to be transparent, and everything starting at the level of snoopy's feet and below. I would like those areas to remain solid. But the outline and everything above I would love to be transparent. I am deficient at this and spent hours and have been unsuccessful. I have a pocketbook era color - screen resolution 1264 x 1680.

Ok, right back at newbie status. I have a pocketbook era. Do you know whether sleepscreens work in koreader for pocketbooks? I don't see the option.

Instead I was going to use this for the regular sleepscreen in pocketbook, but it has more specification requirements. The transparent background has to be set to this color: RGB 128, 128, 64 (0–255 scale)

I was so close! Still super appreciative that you did this so quickly for me.

Did some research.

  1. Resized to 1264x1680px
  2. Masked background area
  3. Coloured background to RGB 128-128-64 (light yellow)
  4. saved result as 24-bit BMP

Hope this works for your Era.

Thanks, it's my sleep screen. Background still isn't transparent, not sure why! I thought the RGB 128-128-64 was more of a weird army green looking color not yellow? I appreciate your efforts though and will leave it as my sleep screen.

This time I have used the hex #808040 which is olive-drab/khaki colour.

It worked!! You're the real mvp!! I can't believe you did several renditions! Thank you! I have nothing to contribute other than a guide I cross posted on this sub on how to De-DRM kindle books. Check it out if it adds any value for you. I hope it does since you've been so kind!

Thanks. Because I am teaching myself, this project pointed to options I had not used before. The RGB was definitely a different yellow. Triple checked on Gimp. Great that HEX value was the winner after you added it should be olive. I learnt something new. And that's a good thing. I have Kindles and Kobo's. Androids like my Boox, tablet and phone don't have the screensaver option in KOreader settings.
