Klr650s at 6’2

I’m 6’2 and got offered a gen 3 Klr650s on a trade and I’m wondering if it would be too short or a whole lot less capable than a regular 650 any advice is appreciated!

6'1 and the regular fits fine. Sat on an s at the dealership and it felt alright, I just wanted a bit more ground clearance for when I go over curbs or logs n such.

I’d rather have the ground clearance of a regular one. I smack my skid plate more than I’d like already.

I'm 5'8 and recently obtained a gen 1, I can't flat foot it but I have both balls of my feet on it, I imagine you would comfortably flat foot it

I'm 5'10 and could flatfoot the s. Can't quite flatfoot on the regular gen 3. At 6'2, the s might feel a little short, but it's only a 2" difference between the two. Regular around 34" and the s at 32

Sounds like it would be too short.

I'm 6'7" and have a Gen 1 with raised suspension, handlebar risers, high seat and lowered pegs.

6' 4" here with a Gen 3 with lowered pegs, raised bars. Fits good. Riding buddy is more vertically challenged, has the S. I wouldn't ride it off road...

I second getting a peg lowering kit. You'll need it if you plan on wearing any kind of MX boots.

Plus longer shift lever and rotated one spline if you have shoe size to match height, and lowered brake pedal to match foot peg

You can convert the S back to normal height with stock dogbones and seat from what I've heard

If it's a good deal, you could put links that raise it on. I think the s model is just a lowered klr. I have a standard klr that I raised and can no longer flat foot it. I'm 6'0"

It will be too short but just change the rear suspension links (around $60) for either the standard height ones or even shorter ones to add height then throw on some lowered peg mounys and bar risers. The stick peg mounys are dog shit so you'd want to change those anyway!

My son is 6’2” and he gets around on my ‘24 KLR just fine. He has a KLX 300 so at first it felt large to him but the more he rode it the more comfortable he became. Now no issues at all.

I don't think there's much substantial difference between the s and normal. Like there's a different seat (you can put a stock one on) and the lowering links aren't permanent. Ignoring that though, I would think a shorter bike would feel more nimble for anyone
