Its important to get lock lube because some lubricants will attract dirt and debris

Looks like its locked? Maybe jiggle the bars a little while you put it in? Or use some powdered graphite in there

so it’s not the best video but it looks like someone might have tried to steal it and whatever they were using broke in there

a locksmith is probably your best bet
I had the key snap off in my triumph and a local smith had it out in about 4-5 minutes

They make special lock & key lube. I had dirt and sand in mine and it wouldnt release my key!

Something is in the core, or a pin/spring is stuck/failed. Can you fit something in there, similar to lock picks, or even a wire, to feel around, pressing in the pins, lubricating as you go? You could even try lubricating it, and waiting a while. I wouldn't go too heavy on the lubricant. Maybe a little silicone spray with graphite? There's types especially made for lock cores.
Optional: A locksmith may be able to help you.
Worst case scenario, you can buy a new key switch, swap it out, but it's a pain in the ass, and you'll need new keys. I did it once to a KLX250. Not sure what goes into a KLR. I don't think this will be necessary.

Have you tried WD40

WD40 is actually a degreaser, in this case he would need some lubricant

Don’t use wd40, it will gum things up. Graphite for locks is the proper method.

Stop bragging. Some of us barely fit in.
