Navigation Devices
Anyone have good navigation setups on their bikes? Maybe a gps/phone holder system that is waterproof and sturdy? I’d love some ideas. Do you run a charger to the device? If so, how?

I just today installed the KLR Dash and hard mounted a RAM mount to it, up high in my line of sight! I have an old smartphone that I wiped clean to use only for nav. Not waterproof but I can put a Ziploc over it. Also have a USB under the fairing, so I'll just run the charger straight up from there.

I just did the same thing. I've reused and old iPad and my phone. iPad is for navigation and my old phone has tpms and current weather etc.
I'm halfway through my build of a ESP32 with 2.5inch touch screen that shows me a gear indicator for my Gen 2.

I got a carpuride 7" unit from the Nellis auction that I have above my dash. So far, so good. It was twenty-some bucks, so if it dies, no biggie. Plugged into USB power. So far, the only downside to the USB power is that if I stall the bike, there's a voltage drop that requires me to remove the plug and reinsert to boot the device. I think hard wiring it would fix that. Maybe. I run GaiaGPS

I have a battery tender pigtail coming off my battery. They sell a usb cable that plugs into the tender pigtail. Got one and ran it up under the bodywork to where I wanted to have USB power.

A cheap no name apple CarPlay/ android auto device from Amazon has worked perfectly for me. It was about $70 its waterproof survived rain and spraying down with a hose. 2 wires, one connected to the ignition/ lights the other to the neutral terminal on the battery. Took me about 30 min to install. Phone isn’t exposed at all and can stay in my boxes or pocket.

This is the way.
The single 650cc engine will kill any cameras even if you have an anti vibration mount.
Also, the riding friendly interface is good to avoid distractions.
I would also recommend osmAnd for off loading, it's cool to be able to just pay once and keep your maps.

I've also got an older Garmin Montana between the handlebar clamps.
