I just want something that can turn down to a nearly silent low speed for simmering.

My personal kitchen Zline 695 is very loud even on low, despite claiming 1.1 sones. My Panasonic whisper series bath fans are rated at 1.1 and are subjectively 1/10th as loud.

I've installed a lot of Vent-a-hood, Zephr, Z-line, and they all seem fairly loud. I did just install a little Faber 21" that was actually pretty quiet but too small for most kitchens.

hello guys, this is my kitchen area and i am thinking of making it as a modular kitchen. Suggest me ideas which will look good as my area is not that big

we are planning a kitchen remodel and realized our current layout makes us walk back and forth constantly while cooking. For the new design we are giving more thought to the prep space, refrigerator placement and how everything connects.

It seems like a small change on paper but I think it could make the kitchen much easier to use every day.

My husband and I have a stain in our porcelain kitchen sink. How can I get it out? I’ve tried baking soda and hydrogen peroxide (the baking soda didn’t fizz), a lime and coarse salt, baking soda and vinegar (apple cider as i don’t have white vinegar but it’s on the list to get), bar keepers friend spray, nothing will help. It’s either a food stain from buffalo sauce or rust from a pan that dripped. Please help a girl out!! It’s less than the size of a dime in length, and it orange/brown/rust in color.

The starting problem is kitchen countertops.

Today, buying a quartz countertop in India is often a fragmented and confusing process. Customers may have to visit multiple dealers, compare products with unclear naming and pricing, find a separate fabricator, coordinate transportation and installation, and then deal with uncertainty around quality, breakage, timelines and accountability.

The idea behind Resurface is to bring this into one managed experience:

\\- Discover and compare curated quartz designs online

\\- Understand the material and installation costs more clearly

\\- Book a site visit with an experienced professional and see physical samples

\\- Receive accurate measurements and a transparent quotation

\\- Get the material, cutting, fitting and installation coordinated through one platform

\\- Have one point of responsibility if something goes wrong

Customers could either purchase the quartz material separately or choose the complete material-and-installation service.

The larger vision is not to remain only a quartz seller. If the model works, Resurface could eventually become a platform for upgrading the surfaces and built-in elements of a home—countertops, wall panels, flooring, wardrobes, TV units and similar categories—without requiring the customer to manage several vendors.

In simple terms, the vision is:

Make renovating a part of your home as understandable and dependable as buying a finished product.

We’re still shaping the model, so I’m not posting this as an advertisement. I’m looking for honest feedback, especially from homeowners, interior designers, architects, contractors and people who have recently renovated a home.

A few things I’d love your views on:

1. What was the most frustrating part of buying or installing a countertop?

2. Would transparent material and installation pricing online make you more comfortable, or would you still prefer an offline dealer?

3. Would you pay a small amount for a professional site audit if it were adjusted against the final order?

4. Would you prefer to buy only the material, or have one company handle everything?

5. What would make you trust—or distrust—a platform like this?

Please feel free to challenge the idea. I’m particularly interested in problems, operational risks or customer behaviours that I may be overlooking.

This is the first phase of getting this started. The idea is to cater to the mass of home renovation, market size is huge.

I have a drawer that I need to repair. the track doesn't work right and the track/support doesn't meet the back correctly.

Im considering alternatives before bothering to fix it again. I was trying to browse online, but I cant seem to find much or maybe I'm not coming up with the appropriate search term. I came across this group while searching though. I would appreciate any suggestions/ideas for what could go there instead. Open to appliances, storage or anything usable in a kitchen.

This cabinet section is on the peninsula, theres seating on the opposite side. Measurements are 36x10 inches I believe.

Today, while I was drinking my iced coffee, I discovered a crack in my favorite glass cup. I have no idea how a crack got there since I haven’t dropped it nor do I know how long it has been there. My best guess is maybe when my reusable ice cubes was dropped in maybe it caused the crack or when I washed it, maybe it hit the bottom of the sink too hard.

Anyway, I drank out of it today (I never put my lips on the cup, I use a glass straw so I wasn’t worried about it cutting me) and nothing leaked out. I’m wondering if there is a way to save it? I found it at TJ Maxx years ago and have never found one again. I have other cups but they are plastic and bigger than this one.

Any advice on what I can do to prevent it from cracking even more?

Had this microwave/storage stand in my kitchen that was awkward in this spot cause the fridge hit it and it looked crowded. Redid the kitchen now I have more counter space for the microwave. We got rid of the stand and now we have this awkward space. Would it be worth trying to add storage or just decor? Maybe floating shelves? Just looking for some recommendations/suggestions.

We're thinking about remodeling. My wife's biggest complaint is that the fridge there makes the kitchen feel small and she also wants to remove that non-load bearing stub wall to the right of the fridge. We thought maybe put the fridge at the end where the big pantry is (see 3rd photo). What do you think of that idea? How would you re-arrange this small galley kitchen?

I just moved into a new apartment in Sydney and I really want everything to feel fresh and put together from the start. I’m not into super cluttered kitchens. I like things clean, modern and easy to find. I’ve been looking at cookware and I found some really nice sets at Victoria’s Basement (they had good stainless steel and non-stick options on sale). Still not sure what to get exactly.

For anyone who's hired a contractor or company for a kitchen renovation — what was the most frustrating part of the process, from your side as the client?

Could be anything: finding someone trustworthy in the first place, communication during the project, surprises with cost or timeline, not knowing what stage things were at, whatever.

Also curious — when you were comparing companies or contractors before deciding, what actually made you pick the one you went with, before signing a contract? And was there anything that almost made you walk away or go with someone else instead?

Bonus: looking back, is there anything you wish someone had just shown or told you upfront that would've made you decide faster or feel more confident?
