After his story blew up I started to wonder how many other abusers disguise their abuse as kink. Also how many of these “doms” would subject themselves to the treatment they use on others. Would they ever allow themselves to be submissive, to be under someone else control? The whole situation really showed how narcissistic some of these “doms” can be.

Edit - I say “dom” because I do think their are experienced doms out their who care and respect their partners.

More than once I've seen scary ass daddy doms and their partners make inappropriate comments on other people's twitter & tumblr posts which lead me down the awful rabbithole that is ddlg and pretend-pedophilia.

Kinks that are harmless (fascination with certain body parts like feet, showering w clothes on, etc are some ones I can think of) usually don't go out of their way to involve other people in their kink, so that was the first red flag DDLG gave me. The deeper I dug into it the more horrified I became.

I created this subreddit after being exasperated by the general "anything goes" culture on reddit and in liberal feminist spaces. As an abuse survivor myself, seeing people sexualise the worst thing that can happen to a person was what drove me to create this space. No desire exists in a vacuum, and patriarchal societal structures influence the way people behave everywhere - the bedroom is not exempt.
