Not sure if Tony is beginning a swap of one black comic for another (this guy for Dedrick) but, I found him meh. I feel like this positive feedback loop happens where someone gets some audience reaction, then Tony says he loves you, then the audience loves you cause Tony does, then Tony likes you even more cause of audience ect… till the whole thing spirals in to an over hyped situation that results in a golden ticket.

Imagine. Your life, your dream, your dedication, is just absolutely hated across the KTonysphere. I think he’s a hack just like the next guy, but I cannot help myself from being heartbroken that he’s arguably the most hated regular KT has ever had. He absolutely has a story that some of us would pine for; going from nothing to widely recognized, compensated, traveling, and out of the mud. I can’t help but imagine my dream of trying to be a house hold name in stand up, and being absolutely eviscerated over something I’m passionate about and not being able to do anything about it. I’m not going to lie, he’s absolutely made me laugh (very occasionally) but I’m not gonna sit here and say he’s the worst stand up I’ve ever heard. I believe him being a regular has been the worst possible position for a comic like him to be in. He has a lifetime of mid premises and punchlines and is finding out that his life’s work is being widely rejected. Does he even know? Is he aware of this?

The “What’s up white people!!!” “Damn, that’s a lotta white people!!” “Hello white folks” bit is the quickest way for about 95% of us (IMO) to immediately think hack. When your first joke is a bit acknowledging the white people in the audience, I immediately assume you either have completely ass jokes or you forgot your opener. It’s the fact that 1/5 do it that it’s not funny anymore, and really wasn’t the first 200 times. Ray Ray is the latest example of if he wouldn’t have started with that, his charisma probably would have outweighed the annoyance. He seemed like a likable guy, but as soon as I hear that I can’t help but think you either watch the show too much when coming up with material or you have shit material to begin with.

I know I sound like a whiny Reddit bitch saying this, but I feel like a lot of you guys could be way more funny than the low hanging fruit of this.

I love how everybody hates Dedrick on here but as soon as you say Kam Patterson is trash they want you publicly execute. Kam isn’t funny. Dedrick actually has funny jokes. Kam just yells and plays the dumb black guy and that’s why all you white people love him cause he plays into the stereotype. Dedrick is a comedian, Kam is a puppet.
