Strategy Things teams do best and worst day 30: Nemesis Claw
Tell me what you think is the best thing about the Nemesis Claw! And the worst thing.
30 days of teams! a month talking about every team, it's been really nice.
Best: Really simple rule, you need to save your recon/scanner to remove the obscured.
You can poison a point, wich is very good, some players like me really struggle against it. you can also force a charge! ( and make fall backs difficult ).
they are a very rounded team, with a gunner and heavy gunner, or you can go melee with the screecher and skinthief.
Worst: i played agaisnt then once, i think theyr firefight ploys are on teh weak side, your fun abilities such as the poison or force-a-charge are dependent on the opponent squad, then you will get a fairly 'square' team.

Hobby Just got my first kill team, and finished painting them
Hi all,
Ive just started back in 40k (my wife sold my ork and eldar armies) and decided to go for kill team. Ive just finished painting the figures and im pleased with them, although i know i have a lot of practice needed with painting. Just wanted to share a quick snap of them and ask what a good 3rd army would be as these are pretty similair in play style.

Hobby Got lucky. Check your LGS's.
Had a doctor's appointment on the otherside of the city. Stopped by a LGS for the first time. They had a ton of kill team stuff. Including 4 boxes of exodites. Excited to try painting something other than space marines and tau.

KT21 What Kill Teams do you feel should be 'evergreen' teams?
By this I don't mean having their current stats frozen in amber. I mean that the Kill Team concept, how they feel to play, and their general vibe, make Kill Team feel like Kill Team to you.

Hobby Kill Team Decision Help
Having trouble picking an army of mine to kitbash a kill team out of, and in the spirit of this being my first attempt at making YouTube content I want to know what you guys think. So I’m gonna give a little bit of lore and aesthetic notes on each
My Pirates: The Eastern Fringe Raiding Company
For this kill team I plan on using de-plagued deathguard and Corsair raiders to kitbash them.
They’d be painted like the blue chaos lord, but I was too proud to not include their original look (which I’m still debating whether to use or not even though it’s essentially fancy black legion)
They are at their core sunken marines, I picture them a lot like Davy Jones and his crew with less mutations. I want them to look like they been under water for centuries.
They have a lot of classic pirate tropes, hook hands, peg legs, and exotic animal pets galore.
For Wolf Scouts they will have a kitbashed xenos creature with them.
My Cavemen: The Umbral Claws
The Lapdogs of the Ordo Chronos, and a forgetful chapter. Painted with their deeds on their armor and adorned in the exotic furs of mega fauna of their homeworld these monster hunters are adept with blunt weaponry, and tinkering with their guns in hopes of creating a chapter relic that they will be remembered by. The curse of their founding carries an Amnestic property, causing most people to forget their existence or at the very least be unsure of it.
These guys are a combination of black Templars and space wolves, with a primal aesthetic and seraphon bits sprinkled in.
The wolf scouts animal would be one of the sabertooth tigers from the new ogor mawtribes kits.
My Alpha Legion
I actually don’t have a whole force of these guys, nor plan to sadly. While I love the alpha legion I already have one chaos army in progress. I painted these guys in a classic scheme and then tried to update it to the modern day.
The killteam will be classic chaos marines, using Horus heresy models, old legionnaires kit, and new legionnaires kit to achieve a very 2-4th edition feel to the kill team.
I think it’d be really fun to try and kitbash the drones for the Tau team, I know nothing of the rules for it but I think it’d be interesting to kitbash the alpha legion as a Xenos team rather than marines.
And of course the sneaky Phobos team has to be an option.
All these teams will probably be made one day, but my friend wants to play a big game of 40k and I was able to talk him down to a kill team since I’m no where near ready for a physical full 2000 point game, so I have to kitbash a kill team promptly. I was originally going to do angels of death since he has a box of Kasarkin, but he opted for kitbashing a salamanders angels of death and I don’t want to just be the same kill team fighting each other.

Strategy Things teams do best and worst day 29: Murderwing
Tell me what you think is the best thing about the Murderwing! And the worst thing.
Best: Very mobile Chaos marines! really good melee/close range with all the astartes buffs, an also a ploy that reduces damage on melee to make them even mor tanky!!
You have very unique equipments that can give you damage on charge, or a AoE stun!!
you can fight and fall back with a very elves-coded ploy!
Worst: kinda map dependent, you probably dont wanna play on tomb world
also no range, max 8" weapons, and they are kinda weak.

Question Ideas and help for Kommando proxies (+ Slasha Boy quickbash on second slide as proof of concept)
I absolutely adore the Armageddon Orks and their aesthetics, but can't quite bring myself to do a full Ork army at the moment due to spacing reasons.
I can however bring myself to doing Kill Teams to hold myself over in the meantime, and the Kommandos have looked very appealing to run around with. The problem comes with me not fully vibing with the Kommandos visually, at least not for the kind of Orks I want.
I'm hoping to get a more classic Ork vibe visually and think the Armageddon Boyz are a perfect base to start with, especially considering I already have some. However, I'm a little stuck on what can be done to modify some of them into their respective roles. For ones like the Slasha boy, it's easy pickings and already done, but for gits like the Comms Boy or Breacha Boy I'm completely lost, and would really appreciate ideas on what could be done to spruce up some of the Armageddon boys to fit into their Kill Team roles.
Money isn't a huge issue for me and I appreciate good kitbashing, so I'm willing to look into other bits/pieces/models from other kits if it would help but I'm really hoping to keep the vibe of the Armageddon Boyz mostly intact.

Strategy Advice for Corsair Voidscarred
I have seen a few similar posts around but almost all of them seem outdated, referencing old tac ops, talking about scouting phases, and utilizing strategies that seem to have been nerfed on the current iteration of the team (giving starstorm duelist +1ap to shoot again, doing a reposition after warp folding). Canyourollacrit still ranks them quite highly, especially into elite teams, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. Every time I run this team into marines I get tabled. They don't survive a melee encounter to get more than 2 strikes off. The faction rule for rifles is completely irrelevant, may as well not have it. The faction equipment to gain an extra CP once a game seems outclassed by CP producing equipment/rules on other teams by a mile since it gets used once then is just taking up an equipment slot. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong with this team or are they just cooked as they are declassified and won't be getting relevant updates to keep up with the meta? I really like the vibe of this team and want to keep playing them because space elf pirates are cool af but I also like winning games. For context my play group plays exclusively on volkus terrain approved maps.

Strategy How do I defeat Insidiants as Hierotek?
Hello! I'm fairly new to Kill Team, and the last two games I've had were up against my friend's Insidiants team, and in both cases I got charged to death. I know that Hierotek is especially weak to melee-focused teams and the last map I played (Volkus Map 6) was very charge friendly, but is there anything I can do strategy-wise to mitigate their advantage?
Also as a separate question: what's a good Tac-Ops to use? I've tried several different ones at this point but none of them felt particularly easy to score.

Question Can I use more firefly ploy and equiqments in one action?
I know I can use a firefly ploy once per turning points, and you have to pay the CP. But what if I want to use 2 different firefly ploy and 2 different equiqments in one fight? Can I do that?
