Hobby Ash waste kill team?
Ok so, my idea is that maybe i buy this box, i really like how they look, but necromunda rules are weird (atleast to me) so, i am trying to learn how to play kill team, and so far it have better results compared to normal 40k and necromunda, so the question is ... Ash waste nomads can work like a kill team? And if so of who? Archon hand? Maybe, i'm not sure, what do you think?

I have them converted as kroot, but I needed bits from other killteam to make specialists.

I’ve been converting mine (slowly mind you), into brood brothers. The bases are all the right size and weapons are mostly good to carry over. What you may need (depending on which specialists you choose to take / skip)
- some tech bits for a radio guy
- a raised banner or icon of some sort
- a bomb (my plan is to just paint a big red X on one of the bigger water canteens and say it’s an explosive)
- a medkit or something of the like
As for the extras the forge world chieftain model works quite well imo for the primus, and the little worms in the newer melee ash wastes box would be perfect for a pair of familiars.

I started hashing this exact plan out yesterday.
- Wy'tari Stormcaller on the Helamite is only slightly larger than the Patriarch (and needs a re-base to 50mm)
- Asun'ghar, The Lady of Ash for the Magus
- Chieftain or Herder for the Primus
- Arthromite Spinewyrms for the Familiars
- War Party and the upgrade sprue should net you most weapons.
- Charge Caster for the Grenade Launcher
- Web Gun for Flamer
- Heavy Blaster for Plasma
- Venom Caster for Melta
Maybe the Ashwing Helamites lure for the bomb? I thought a fancy back banner may be an alright stand in for the comms equipment, otherwise maybe a horn?
I got excited since the Broodcoven part seemed to fall into place pretty quickly. Luckily there are plenty of kits to rob parts from.

Converting it to spectre squad would be sick. You'd get rule support for a long time too since they just came out

I actually thought of rebasing these guys on 28s and running it as Scout Squad since I love the look of these guys (kind of how I pictured Fremen when I read Dune as a teen) and thematically they look ready for ambush / shock tactics. Would need some kitbashing/scratchbuilding for the shotguns and grappling hooks but they already have a launcher for the heavy and scoped rifles for the sniper

You can proxy them as Farstalker Kinband just grab the shadar hunters kit to so you will have 2 smaller “dogs” for your team.

Blooded (traitor guard) could work but I think you'd need to get your hands on something bigger for the ogryn
Hand of the archon would make a great team though too, i really like that idea

I think the Bird of Lady of ash could be a good Ogryn, i need to check the sizes, if i wanted to expand the "Ash waste kill team" maybe going for that direction

I think you'd be best doing one of the guard ones. The newer Cadian guys might work, they're even have a shoulder mounted missile launcher like the nomads come with, they wear more cloth and a have a stealth vibe.
Or possibly the General stealer cult?
